This is the one I reckon we could slip, as long as we go for it like we have been lately we should win comfortably though. 3:1
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

From .tv

Xabi Alonso is a doubt for Saturday's trip to West Ham - though both Javier Mascherano and Fernando Torres should be fit.
Alonso left the field on a stretcher last weekend following a high challenge from Newcastle's Joey Barton.

The Spaniard was followed into the treatment room by Mascherano, who was substituted with a twisted ankle.

"Xabi is the main doubt for the weekend," Benitez told Liverpoolfc.tv. "He has been working and hopefully he will be better in a few days. He is improving but we have to wait.

"We'll have to check him for the weekend because it is more serious than Mascherano's injury."

Fernando Torres is in line for a return at Upton Park after missing Sunday's 3-0 win with a hamstring problem.

"He is training with the physios and maybe tomorrow he will start training with the rest of the team," added Benitez. "I think he will make the weekend."

Meanwhile, Torres is likely to travel with Spain to the Confederations Cup in South Africa next month, but Benitez is hopeful his star striker will have plenty of recuperation time during the summer.

He said: "We have to work together with the fitness coaches and also the doctors of Spain during the summer and hopefully it will be okay for him."

Lucas will probably start then...oh joy :D

looking like Xabi is more likely not to be fit than to be fit.  I am guessing Lucas will start with either Spearing or Alonso on the bench.

I was actually hoping we'd leave Lucas out for this one and try having Gerrard and Mascherano in the middle with Benny, Kuyt, Riera and Torres all starting in the forward positions... wouldnt matter much if it was a 4-4-2 with Kuyt upfront or a 4-5-1 with Benny in the Gerrard role but i just thought it would be interesting to see how we'd do if we had all our better attacking players playing in the side for this one... would be interesting but i cant see it happening...

I hope we do get some sort of result because I've a feeling, quite a strong one that Citeh will roll over their neighbours on Sunday to kick the door wide open again. I simply cannot believe after the way the season has gone that it's going to kind of peter out.

I sounds like Alonso won't quite make it , but I think we should still win this one if we "go for it". Lucas seems to play much better with Masch than he does with Alonso , so I think he will do ok. Lucas played well with Masch against Newcastle and the mancs away, so I am still hopeful anyway   :D I think I might go with Benayoun rather than Riera as Benny seems to have hit some nice form at the moment.

                       Reina

Arbeloa     Carra       Agger        Aurelio

             Lucas/Alonso   Masch

Kuyt             Gerrard           Riera/Benayoun

                  Torres

We should win this one, but I think it will be a close game 1-0 or 2-0 to us.

West Ham's form based on last 13 league games:

Played - 13
Clean sheets - 7
Goals Scored - 10
Goals Conceded - 7
Won - 5
Lost - 4
Drawn - 4

So they are on a good run of form for their standards. On the other here's our form based on last 13 games:

Played - 13
Clean Sheets - 6
Goals Scored - 33 :buttrock
Goals Conceded - 12
Won - 9 :buttrock
Lost - 1 :(
Drawn - 3

So our form is not that bad too. :p

If we don't win this one, thats it for another season.

Where there is a will, there is a way, but If the Mancs win their derby game on Sunday, It is all over for defo.

if the mancs win, then you will no longer be match thread starter, as youve been stringing us all along right up until we fail in the title at the last hurdle

no good backing a horse whos fifteen lengths in front only to fail at the finish line

i will blaim you  :D   :D
