Liverpool v west ham

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

No one started a match thread yet? Ill start one this time :D

With Torres again injured, I think Rafa will go back to 4-5-1 playing keane as a lone striker. I would play a 4-4-2 against West Ham, and put pennant on the right this time.

Dosenna will start, which is worrying because he is c@ck and he can't defend for his life. I was wondering, why wouldn't he play Insua? He is better than Dosenna in defending.

I'll go for a 1-0 or 2-0 win for us.

I hate Monday night kick-offs, this could give Chelsea the chance to put pressure on with a win. We need the three points, Keane to start and score. I'd have a couple of young strikers on the bench and a word in Rafa's ear to bring Babel on as a striker and not keep subbing him on for Riera 2/3 into the game

When we play Torres upfront (this season more than ever really) usually hes the only thing that looks good when we go forward.. the only player (along with Gerrard to a lesser extent) who looks like being able to score or provide from individual work or a brilliant first touch.. now having said that and given the way Keane has been performing.. would you still rather we play one upfront ? i dont think so...

MetalHead you have a point there... Keane and Kuyt and bring on a natural right winger and maybe we wont have to depend on our seemingly unreliable strikeforce all that much in terms of creating chances and holding up the ball higher up...

I think we'll win this in an ugly way 2-0 Keane/Kuyt.  Hopefully Chelsea and Man U drop points they have big matches this weekend.

The flip side being our players will get an extra days rest after a pretty hectic period.

Hopefully a comfortable win. I can see Rafa making a couple of changes but not the dreaded rotation. West Ham are a tricky team but I expect us to go at them from the off and come away with a victory.

so you expect goals? me too, if only because we shouldnt be expecting any. Keane has been poor but he will come good theres no doubt in my mind about that, in fact I reckon he'll get a hatrick monday, we'll win 4 or 5 nil.

West Ham are dangersous in that they are still settling with the new manager and we could face a up for it West Ham gaining in confidence or a disorganised West Ham still unsure about their style of play.

In fact its just West Ham again :D

i can see him going 442 with keane and kuyt up front and benyanoon on the right. i'll eat my own bo'llocks if he starts with pennant in this one. dossena starting is a genuine worry - god only knows what the scouts were looking at when they went to check him out.

west ham are having an indifferent time under zola but you never know what to expect form them. i'm not taking anything for granted in this match.

Zola looks like he wants to play football and this could go for us rather than teams who defend for a draw which can frustrate us.  But their defence looked good last weekend although not impregnable and an early goal could give us the game as they will naturally attack and we can soak up pressure and counter

You doubt Keane will score but you think Riera will... where are you getting your logic from?

we`ll win as long as the crowd get behind the team, the players know how important this season is to us so they can do without pressure from the fans at the first miss placed pass, you could hear it at the Fulham game and from what i read carra had words with people at the end of the game.

we all have a part to play in this.

2.0 for me

QFT, the fans at the Fulham game were :censored: simply put.  They need to show belief in the team I know it's been 18 years but the fans need to back the team not doubt them, especially if you're at the game I understand where it comes from but it doesn't help the team at all.
