It's not over yet. But it just goes to show the bar is always being raised. Whatever happens this season we have to make sure come next season we do NOT throw away points at home like we have done becasue :censored: what anyone says. We threw the league away to utd this year by dropping those 14 points at home.
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.

Exactly.. Lessons must be learnt and i firmly believe we will be stronger next year. As long as we have a fit gerrard and torres will be brill. There link up play was good today. Im praying citeh take something off mannure...  If only macheda the :censored:had'nt scored against villa and was it boro.. If only spurs had held on against mannure... The amount of games mannure have played this season with consistency goes to show how strong they really are. Even though they have been poor in games they still win. I guess that what champions are like!

I am made up with not only the players have responded but also the manager - he seems to be making all the right noises about the draws and dropped points. They are and were frustrating but we are new to chasing the league and we will hopefully learn from this.

We appear to be going for it from the off rather than waiting until the second half when the opposition tire and that imo was our problem early in the season.

Our first team is as good as anyones on there day and we have proved it.

One thing i am unsure about is Riera - i was text by me mate last night telling me he had been dropped without a reason, not sure what is going on.
I think Riera has badly dropped in form for this second half of the season and if he keeps that up then he doesnt deserve to be near our team. But after the way he started i think he does have more than he is showing, if anyone has any info on why he was dropped from the whole squad tonight i would be interested.

On a side note Silva scored against Real Madrid tonight  :;):

They said he had a calf-strain mate.

Good win, but I'm impress with Mark Noble. Rafa need to consider this boy other than Barry ...

Helps when people get in the box as well!

Excellent result, of course people moan about reffing decisions like the penalty that went against spudz or the 'four penalties' that the chavs are inevitably going to make death threats over, but if Mascherano's foul had been punished then we might not have gone up the other end and got a penalty. Any decision in a game of football, big or small, can make a difference. Like the throw we got against Besiktas that was their throw and we scored the first of our eight goals from.

Anyway, good performance against a lacklustre Wet sHam. Excellent vision and pass from Torres for the first, and timing of run from Gerrard. Good job we had little bits of fortune on our side, like Carra slipping, Di Michele making a meal of his one on one and then diving, and of course said aforementioned free-kick that should have been given against Mascherano. But all in all a good performance, shame Babel could score his header from Kuyt's cross and had to tuck the rebound away, I hope Kuyt doesn't lose an assist for that.

Now all we need to do is hope something happens elsewhere, we could be out of the title race before we play next. Good news is that we need only one more win and 2nd is all but ours, if the chavs lose then we need only one more point. May not be the title, but at least we won't have qualifying for the CL and that's two less games to worry about.

We know in reality that it is probably going to be United's title but I just love the determination, desire, passion and downright hard work that is currently on display. Let's face it they could have given up but it is not in the script! It is fantastic to hear pundits regarding Liverpool, and rightly so, as one of the most entertaining teams in football today. It is a long time since I have heard such overtures. I am convinced that Sammy Lee has played a very important role in Liverpool's improvement and I am delighted to see him sitting on the bench next to Rafa doing the celebrations whilst Rafa confuses the footballing world and mind game specialists like Ferguson and Allardyce with his next round of hand signals.

Rafa and more probably Parry made a very serious mistake, that admittedly was rectified very quickly, when they bought a past his best Robbie Keane for £20m and hopefully Rafa has learned from that mistake. Buying Keane may ultimately be one of the key reasons if we don't win the title. Too many draws against some very average opposition at home for the second year running also needs to be looked  at. My belief is Rafa was simply far too cautious in several of those games. Every league match we play now is like a cup final because we are chasing the title and Rafa must adopt that same attitude from the beginning of next season. How easy does a game become when you are winning 2-0 at half time and the opposition is demoralised? Some of the last minute early season rescue acts and coming back from the death was incredibly exciting to watch but a lot of the time it was a result of too much caution. Stuff caution! I prefer annihilation!

Big well done to Rafa and the team!!!!! Whatever happens the future looks bright and the attitude is brilliant! Even the board seem to be behaving and that's saying something!

Any1 else catch the comment about the second half displays this season? If the PL was purely decided on second half performances we'd be 15 points ahead of the pack, includin manure havin 2 games in hand. Since the game at the theatre of queens I'm sure we'v a far better record than any team in British football, never mind second half stuff.

Last few games have been amazin to watch, even the 2 4-4 games where defensive errors negated attack minded football. Would have been interestin to see that attitude all season, where only the top 4 sides (scum apart) could actually live with us. West Ham yesterdy was a fine performance in a game I had a few concerns over (sure I aint the only one....) and if we turn that kinda performance in next sundy at the hawthorns it shud be a walkover, Albion haven't scored past us in the PL i think, whereas we regularly put a few past them.

Rafa and Sammy have got this team firin on all cylinders, I really wish the close season was like ten games away, with this momentum we dont ever wanna stop playin, and teams dont wanna be playin us. We're playin like the home team in every game, kinda like you score 1 we'll score 3 etc. A pleasure to watch.

Beside the Hillsborough Flame, I heard a Koppite mournin, "Why so many taken on that day?" Justice has never been done. But their memory we'll carry on. There'll be Glory Round The Fields Of Anfield Road

Just commented in the records thread, if we'd won just TWO of the games we've drawn then we could reach 90 points and just ONE draw by the mancs in their remaining games would mean they could only reach 90 points as well. It annoys me we couldn't beat Fulham, West Ham, or the bitters at home, but beat them all away. Not to mention doing the double over the mancs and Chelsea and not beating Stoke, losing to boro and spudz.

Did anyone realise where the mancs' main source of dropped points is this season?

Dropped 8 points vs Liverpool/bitters : P4 W1 D1 L2 PTS 4/12
Dropped 10 points vs London clubs (away) : P5 W1 D2 L2 PTS 5/15

The only other dropped points were at home to Newcastle and away at villa (draws) Unfortunately none of the remaining games for the mancs involves Merseyside clubs or trips to London. If anyone doubted where the powerhouses of English football are......................
