STOKE CITY VS LIVERPOOL - Saturday January 10th  17:30 k.o

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Lucas don't deserve to get another game in a Liverpool shirt...FACT! The amount of possession he loss was alarming. Kuyt should not be used as a lone striker with his limited ability as a forward compared to the one we got sitting at the bench...FACT!

180 mins and we can't get a goal against a bottom 3 side...credit to Stoke for 2 gutsy display against us but no thanks to a man with a stubborn streak in him  another great opportunity to pull ourself further from the chasing pack was lost! SAF must be sh1tting in his pants

Kuyt up front on his own was a big mistake.  How many times must we try this before the manager realises that he doesnt have what it takes to play up on his own?

:censored:, utter :censored:,

I'm becoming increasingly worried about our lack of ability to increase the tempo towards the end of games we have to win i.e. Stoke. We don't seem to build any sustained pressure on teams, unlike our rivals.

I've always maintained we will not win the league under Rafa, anything else Yes,  but the league no! Due to him playing people like Lucas and Benny. They just aren't title winning standard. Carra is not a right back, and not even bringing Keane into the game is a disgrace. I think I'd be contemplating move back to White Hart Lane is I was him!

Why don't we go 4-4-2 in games like that, even if it is away from home. It justs begs belief sometimes. When the midfield plays well, by that I'm mostly talking of Gerrard, Mascherano and Alonso here, we dominate, when they're not in or not in the game, we're tripe.

Some signings please?

Well at least we got closer this year. Hopefully if we sign another quality player in the summer we can really push for the title next year. Good effort though lads.

I think we lose because we are wearing green. I think this is the reason why our players looked upset ever since the start.

Seriously, we should have sub beni first before Riera as Riera at least can cross the ball. Would be useful if Torres was brought in earlier. Rafa got the line up and sub wrong as again he lefted for too late. Lucas is definitely a pedegree of Shlt and Fault. Rafa should sub him for keane, drop SG back to midfield so he can go forward with speed. Today it is hard for us to turn. Can believe we lost point to stoke in both fecking games.....WTF

Also anyone know why Rafa is still sat in the box? He seems fine now he should be in the dugout.

Because we don't have God's divine right to win them, maybe?

yes i understand we have no right but come on we should be killing a team like that if we want to win the league

i wouldn't say we should be "killing" them, they've got one of the best home records in the prem.

the way stoke set up there team and how they are so narrow makes it difficult to create chances - even the mancs only managed to sneak the win on the 84th minute or so when stoke were reduced to 10 men.

we have no divine right to win this game 4-0. todays game did show how much we miss alonso - god knows where we'd be in the table if alonso had gone in the summer!

taking positives, we're still top of the league and what a way it would be to get back to winning ways against everton! walk on....

he dosnt have what it takes to play anywhere, he is hopeless, the worst thing is he plays 90 mins every game, no matter how poor he is, what kind of message does that send out to the rest of the players? if i was Keane id be livid that rubbish like that gets in the team ahead of me.

Rafa is a complete joke, the lineup to start with was never going to work, same old story, taking off players that were our biggest threat, playing players like benashit and lucashit isnt going to win the league and to top it all, he didnt go for the win ie by bringing torres and keane on, i had a feeling it was our manager and not other teams who could fook up our title challenge, and ive been proved right, utd for the title? if they do it'll be a disgrace but both us and chelsea are letting them off.
