from what ive seen he blatantly has enough trickery and footballing brain based on that

BUT every signing is a risk, even torres was.

where did you see this trckery then ? you have only mentioned you tube and it wasnt when he was at city ?

yes every signing is a risk but sometimes you dont have to take the risk if you can say he isnt going to move the club forward - torres was wanted by every single major club and had already starred during a world cup and had bags and bags of talent that everyone could see . there is different levelks of risk - 20 odd mil for torres was a slight risk . 12 mil for reira is a massive risk - 8 mil not so much - 5 mil and voronin and its a risk you take.

if you trust rafa then you must trust this signing

rafa knows this is a key season for premiership progress, he aint gonna make silly transfer choices at this stage

No one is stupid enough to trust any manager one hundred per cent when it comes to signings . and reira isnt rafas first choice so its prob not the player he was thinking to take us to another level but will be one to make us a bit more solid maybe. rafas hands are tied cause of the owners not giving him the big bucks.

you dont need big bucks to sign quality players that will fit and progress with your club

lets hope this lad does

Has he left lyon then ?

even downing is better and prob only a couple mil more .

capel is better and prob get him for 12 mil and i have seen him live and the guy has got bags of pace - trickery guile and talent . so what if they took half a season to get used to the prem they would take us forward as a club thou

Marseille got him for £9.5.  When he leaves OM his value will be £15 mil minimum

Thats an absolute steal for him - can play both wide areas - good pace - defeinatly lots of trickery . missed out there .

Look at our signings over the years and tell me which players have improved the club and  how much they cost ?

Torres - 20 odd mil
Masher- 17 mil
Pepe - 6-8 mil ? (for a keeper is a lot )
Skittles -6 mil ish record for a defender
Agger-5 odd mil (record for a defenderat the time)
Kuyt/Babel - 10 odd mil each
Alonso - 10 mil ish
So they all cost a fair amount of money and then look at the cheapy bargains we got -

Zenden,Pennant,Voronin, plus others .

these days you dont get any bargains that blow away the prem - to get quality you have to pay for it .

who died and made you cheif scout?

I reckon he'll be a great signing and prove the doubters wrong. I'd p!ss meself if in his debut he got the ball for the first time , dribbled around 7 players, did some Ronaldo style trickery, sprinted like fook to the byline, whipped n a deadly cross for Kuyt to stick the ball in the onion bag, via Gary Nevilles left testicle

C'mon lads - give him a chance

The only thing is we will all be loking so much at him that as soon as he makes a small mistake we are going to on and on about it.
He will have to be hot from his first game on to get all the fans on his side.

Why? I mean why should he do that and not Keane, Dossena, Alonso, or any other red?

Certainly there might be some members that are putting dressings on the wound before it occurs -- that is, saying Rafa isn't being given the proper financial backing, the Rafa brigade.

But there are members aswell  who are charging the rifle before the war -- The AntiRafa Brigade

And that will lead to lots of heated discussions during the seasons, especially after a defeats.

IMHO that's pointless, because I'm afraid, that if Rafa doesn't challenge this season he'll go, no matter how hard we discuss about it.

So I think this lad should be given the same support that's given any other red, no more, no less. I don't think this lad has to have any especial weight in his shoulder.

you are right in what you say.

Kean and the others  we know a lot about before they come here, thuis guy has not made it in the prem the last time he was here and i fear that he is a dead man walking already.

we do need to give him a clean start but i fear he will nit get it.

i know what i think about him but i hope i am so wrong.

So, this will give us the opportunity to play Riera on the left and Babel on the right of a 4-4-2?

why play babel on the right when he has spent his entire career playing as a left sided forward ?  ??? and definatly not as a right winger or right mid as thats not his game .

IT may be something to do with the fact he is right footed ?

What do you think of my point earlier Igor that Rafa possibly has a different agenda to some of the board? I think he's going all out for success THIS SEASON regardless, whereas they would take the view they are acting more for the long term. Signing blokes in their late twenties for upwards of twenty mill' is definately a bit of a gamble, and perhaps the board were advised it was just too much of a punt. Personally i would've signed barry because I think he'd have done well for us, but he was absolutely top dollar it has to be said, as was Keane.

Rafa has indeed got a different agenda ,than the owners .

Mick think back last season when we were in danger off going out of the champions league and rafa had to win the marseille game . THey were talking to klinsmann for christ sake , what does that tell you about there agenda.

Rafa needs to make a title challenge this year ,because he will get sacked if he doesn't . I think it is only fair that you should let the man challenge for the title with the players he wants and not with one arm tied behind his back . If at the end of the day he fails then he's failed with his players and not with what the board have told him he should buy.
