Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

The timing is the sad part.

If 6 months ago Hicks would have asked for Parry to step down, most on this forum would have agreed.  Parry, it seems, has failed Rafa on certain transfers, has dragged his feet on resigning players to long term contracts, and has not helped the club maximize revenue from our name and success.  He has also failed to publicly back Rafa on multiple occasions.

However, this is not the time to fire him, and Hicks is definitely not the one to be doing the asking.  Hicks' timing on all counts is ridiculous.  He always seems to ruin great important moments with his words of stupidity.

It seems as if the lines are being drawn and alliances are being made.  Parry and Gillett, Hicks and Rafa.

I would rather see Parry out than Rafa, but if the Gaffa has truly   put his lot in with Hicks, I think he has made a mistake.

Hopefully that is not the case and Rafa remains neutral and I do believe that that is the case... because there was only one vague mention that Hick's has rafa's favour or something along that line... before Rafa sides with Hicks, he should check the internet forums and see what the fans think of Hicks...

Rafa has not sided with hicks, nowhere is there a quote saying rafa is on hicks side , that's bullsh!t. Rafa is trying to manage a team whilst being stuck in the middle of this mess. He's playing the game ,so he can keep his job and concentrate on the team .IMO.

Note the paragraph that says:

In the latest twist, Gillett has publicly backed Parry in clear defiance of his co-owners wishes. He said: "Rick Parry retains our full support. Any decision to remove him would need the approval of the full Liverpool board which, it should be remembered, consists of six people - myself, Foster [Gillett's son], David Moores, Rick himself, Tom Hicks and Tom junior. We have not seen the document in question and we were not party to it. We are not able to comment on the detail because we have not seen it. But I would reiterate that Rick retains our full support."

Its just handbag swiping but once again they choose to do it in public.

Moores holds the casting vote on the board!

Exactly right Rafa is playing a game and I don't like it one little bit. I would like to see Rafa show some cahones and come out and say that he likes Gillett but hates Hicks, man that would stir some :censored: up!!  :D  :D

Alternatively, Rafa could publicly declare his love for Gillett and you'd be on here in a flash giving it large about how unprofessional that was and how he should hold his cards closer to the vest. :nod

I think that we should all be backing Parry over this against Hicks. Parry may not be the best CEO in the prem, but I think that he has always tried to do his best for Liverpool FC. Hicks is just in it for the money and couldn't give a damn about the club.

I am concerned that Hicks seems to be using Rafa to try to gain the "popular support" of the fans, I just hope that Rafa now comes out with a statement to cut Hicks off at the fkn knees. Rafa and Parry haven't got on for some time now, but surely the first objective is to get Hicks out the door, we can then deal with Parry, Gillet and Moores later.

Parry and Moores may have fkd up badly in choosing our new owners, but have been doing everything they can to try to limit the damage Hicks AND Gillet are trying to cause with their loans against LFC.

FFS smell the fkn coffee, if Hicks gets Parry off the board and brings in one of his yes men, we are well and truely fkd!

Parry has to go, BUT NOT TILL THAT TW@T HICKS HAS GONE.

Hicks is a businessman with an interest in sports, Gillette is a sports fan with an interest in business. Thats the feeling I get based on the coverage they get in Canada (regarding the north american teams they own)

We need Hicks out, Gillette seems comfortable selling, but not to Hicks, and if you hear a man say about his business partner that he doesn't feel confident entrusting the entire holdings to him, sounds way too fooking dodgy for my liking.

When one of the 3 stooges leaves, things can start moving up instead of down

Nail on the head with that quote Saint.

Parry has to go but only when weve got rid of Hicks as you said hes on the board and has a vote and without him at least until these two have gone we will be finished. thats why he needs a temporary stay of exercution just until these two have gone . then he can go aswell
