Wrong , g+h agreed a right of veto on the contracted they negotiated with each other , but it only lasts 90 day' s from when an offer is made . So we don't know when DIC officially made there offer ,therefore we don't know how long is left on the 90 days.

So if we say that DIC made the offer today , Hicks has 90 days to find the money to buy Gillett out , at the same price DIC were offering.

I think the souness is era is a different thing than the one thats happening now.

We are talking mostly about the long term future of the club, not the short term, the darkest times with souness was only short term, however Hicks looks like more long term, thats why I and other passionate liverpool fans are really worried.

So after the 90 days are up, Gillette can sell?

If so, let's delay the fat w@nker from finding his stake to buy him out. I propose a plan to have him kidnapped and sodomized until the 90 days are up. Who's up for it?

Don't be stupid, they're di.ckheads but they're not daft.

Even they will realise that commercially (let alone for sporting reasons) it would be foolish to sell off any of those players.  He will eventually sell the club and he will want all it's best assets so he can squeeze every last penny out of the sale.

Hicks is just playing hardball here, there's no way he wants the hassle of running this club on his own and I'm confident he'll be out by the start of next season.  The guy has fu.ck knows how many other business and sporting interests - do you really think he can be bothered keeping up this media charade surrounding LFC much longer?  No way.

I think this would have to drag through the courts if Hicks really wanted to veto it and Gillett really wanted to sell.

Just had a thought ...why would Gillett play Hicks game and sell to his cronies if Hicks has been such a cow to him?

there may be a lot of theatre left in this one folks (unfortunately)

Yeah the way the handled the Rafa situation was nothing short of disgraceful yet for me there is NO evidence whatsoever that DIC will be in anyway more reliable, more committed or more honest that Gillett and Hicks. For all we know DIC may be more cut-throat in a business sense than G&H, I haven't heard any statement of their intentions if they were to buy the club?

The short of the matter is that you rarely get owners who are as passionate for the club as the fans are, they are born and bred money makers. Selfish as it may seem can you honestly say Moores sold for the good of the club or did he do it due to a temptation to "cash in"?

I personally can't attribute another failed season to G&H, the writing was on the wall way before they arrived. Rafa's tactics have not changed much in the last two seasons. His rotation policy is still here, the only reason he stopped rotating Torres was due to fans pressure FFS!

Hicks is here to stay whether we like it or not, that much is clear form the press releases and stories in the news. Boycotting the match is pathetic and will only serve to impact negatively on the team. All the fans, especially the Kop, seem to sing about these days is the "Get the Yanks" out sh!te. At our best we were singing about team and how good we were week in week out.

Our infamous 12th man is disappearing!

:(

Totally disagree there mate, the fans are the lifeblood of the club . THe reason they a calling for g+h to go ,is that they can see where the club is heading , down the swanny mate.

£30 MILLION of interest payments to find every year , the debt is on the club , we cannot afford that debt . THey haven't spent a penny of there own money , it's all borrowed ,and it's the 12th man that's going to pay the price.

To say the club is heading "down the swanny" is nothing short of knee-jerk. Liverpool FC have seen darker times than this. Need I mention the Souness era and finishing 8th?!!

As hard as it may be we have to avoid making emotionally led opinions and decisions. Putting aside your opinion on Hicks can you honestly say his motive is to sink the club? You talk of the debt that is borrowed against the club. But that is how the world of money works, you borrow money against your assets - it is effectively a mortgage!

No one at all would of been moaning if it wasn't for the Rafa saga over Xmas. We were all chuffed to bits that finally we had money to compete in the league with. If the Rafa saga hadn't of happened, would this vitriol exist towards the Americans? I doubt it!

At the end of the day it is financially wrong to suggest a club like Liverpool with numerous assets (Players, Stadium, "the brand") are going to fold based on valid investment. Not all Millionaires are Roman Ambramovich! You only have to look at the what American investment based on similar financial commitments are achieving successfully at Manchester United.

Your opinion is your own and although I may not support it I do respect it.

The rafa saga brought all there lies to light . When they first bought the club they specifically said they would not be doing a glazier style buyout and put the debt on the club . THey lied.

If you have no worries about the future of the club ,i'm glad , because there going to be asking you ,to pay for the interest that's accruing on the club . Just one season of not qualifying for the champions league and we are fecked . Leeds utd is a prime example. It's not knee jerk , i've had months to read up about these 2 morons and i'm not going to start sticking my head in the sand and hope everythings going to be ok. WON;T HAPPEN.

This is a quote from tom hicks made last year , Now tell me he won't sell our top players.

"This business has to do with fan affinity and brand devotion. It doesn't necessarily have to do with winning." - Tom Hicks.

Enough said.

You comparing apples with oranges.

The Rafa saga set alight an issue that never would of been if the situation had been dealt with differently.

If Hitler had never invaded Poland, someone else would of. If you read up on the cause of WWII and the extermination of the Jews, one thing is clear that the Jews had in coming in one way of another eventually.

I really don't think a successful business man would sell his prized assets to refinance his/her loans, they find other ways to do that.

Hicks is a c*nt but not stupid.

Told you so folks, don't believe any of it until Tom and Jerry have left for good. Sorry state of affairs to say the least and now we are stuck with these two for even longer.
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.
