well crosby come on nanny, it's hardly the paradise of tocky now is it :p
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

Well i hope not anyway

TBH with you Nan neither could I. It makes DIC look desperate and weakens their stance if they are suddenly resigned to this IMO.
Hopefully it's nothing more than newswire bullshit that can be quickly forgotten.

If these yanks are only in it for the money, which by the looks of things they are...is hicks refusing to sell to DIC hoping if he holds out he'll get a better offer from another investor? Or have they got Benitez' stubborness and are going to prove us all wrong and turn us back into the Liverpool I grew up with?

I think the first option is more likely.

Krompkamp scored for PSV but it was offside.

Hicks is holding out for as much cash as he can get.

And this on ITV

Hicks set for DIC discussions

March 06 2008

Tom Hicks is expected in London early next week to discuss the future of Liverpool with Dubai International Capital.

The Premier League club's co-owner has been in a stand-off with DIC all week over their attempts to buy the Reds for £400million.

The American is believed to have assured Amanda Staveley, DIC's chief negotiator in the UK, that he will be prepared to talk business at the same time as the Merseysiders will be in Italy preparing for their UEFA Champions League showdown with Inter Milan.

By the time Rafael Benitez's side return from the San Siro, the future ownership of the club could be known - and a DIC source said: "We are in the end zone."

DIC is the financial arm of Dubai's ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Staveley reports directly to him and chief executive Sameer Al Ansari - a lifelong Liverpool fan who has been the driving force behind two attempts to buy the club.

DIC have been encouraged by claims that Hicks has agreed not to block the sale of his co-owner George Gillett's 50 per cent holding.

Hicks has also intimated he is still not prepared to sell any of his stake - but DIC appear prepared to go with that suggestion, for now at least.

The source said: "To accommodate a deal, DIC, within reason, would accept certain agreements. It looks as if we are in the home straight. A deal involving both parties could be imminent."

After a week of constant cross-Atlantic negotiations through Staveley, lawyers and accountants, DIC are confident they will eventually control the Anfield outfit.

It is also believed that Gillett, who has wanted 'out' for some while, is not willing to sell a small percentage of his stake to Hicks.

DIC dispatched a representative to Anfield on Wednesday night to watch the top-flight clash against West Ham from the Kop - where he was able to judge the mood of fans and hold general discussions with members of the 'Spirit of Shankly' group who have been campaigning for the end of the Americans' rule at the club.

Fans chanted against the Americans before the game and at half-time, but not during the match or at the end.

Little bit of info about the meeting between ,SOS and DIC rep last night.

We want to thank everyone who took part in protesting against the current ownership. We know and appreciate you are on the front line. It's easy for us to ask you to talk to those who are uninformed on our behalf; it's you who has to do it. It's a process. The message is getting out a day at a time and we will try our hardest to make sure that continues.

The message that was sent last night got as far as Dallas. Hicks' "Echo" reported what we did at half time just as our Echo did. The world's a small place, something Mr Hicks with his talk of siphoning money doesn't understand. We understand it and while yesterday was about what went on in the ground, we ask every Red the world over who agrees with us to find their own way to get the message out to those close to them. Supporting Liverpool FC isn't a shirt you wear or an accent you have, it's part of the essence of who you are, wherever you may live.

For that reason we're working hard on regional branches of the Union and hope to have good news about online payment, constitutions and membership cards soon. Those of you who have handed money and cheques over to us have shown real patience. We hope to present you with progress sooner rather than later. In addition the website as a functioning entity will be ready to go soon. We're pushing two fronts simultaneously – building the union structure and getting rid of the current owners. Events dictate the reality of this, the vast majority of Liverpool supporters want Hicks and Gillett out which dictates the reality of this. We have to do both at once and so, again, we thank you for your support and patience.

Another message got sent out last night. This one got as far as Dubai. A member of the Working Committee was able to meet with a representative of DIC. He told them supporters would on the whole be pleased with a change of ownership and having had our fingers burnt once, they'd be welcomed, albeit cautiously. They took these comments on board. The meeting was constructive and talks will hopefully continue in the future.

We ask all supporters, union members or not, not to go overboard about this. This doesn't guarantee in any way, shape or form that DIC are inevitably going to take over. Nor does it mean we endorse them. It simply was what it was, an introductory meeting between us and them. Pleasing in itself, but we will always keep to our stated aim of holding whoever owns the football club to account.

We're also having another massive meeting, The Olympia, noon, 15th march. The day of the Reading game. We ask Mr Moores again to attend as part of his role as Honorary Life President. If it isn't possible, we ask him to send us a statement to read on the day.

Regardless of all this, we must keep working. We need to set up what the structure the Union needs so it functions for years to come. We need to work harder to improve communications with you. And we all need to keep working towards forcing Hicks and Gillett out.

So thanks again for your hard work last night and thanks in advance for your hard work in the future. If you want to get involved in any way please email spiritofshankly@googlemail.com

–noun 1. a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others.
2. a policy, system of government, etc., based upon or fostering such a doctrine; discrimination.
3. hatred or intolerance of another race or other races.

look closely at 3...then i'll erpeat this that you said:

Typical American?  Fu.ck you and your stereotypes.

sorry TYPICAL was the wrong word.

What I meant was like ALL AMERICAN .

you cant go around calling all americans whatever. we just got a bad one. there are lots of cool americans (again, randy lerner) maybe if the powers that be at liverpool had done there homework and not been so greedy they would have seen what hicks has done to all his other 'investments'

It's an ignorant comment, Dawson, but it's deffo not racist.  Sort yourself out, though, GBJH--we've got plenty of decent Yank members on this board and they don't need to be reading that kind of rubbish. :no
