Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I hope to god this fat yankiee doodle decides to sell up. We need more protests and we also need to hit Hicks where it hurts. Hicks would be more willing to sell if he noticed that people stopped buying scarves and other stuff.

Its all guess work. No one can say DIC will be better without any bias. Its true a lot of fans hate Hicks but fans are fickle and before long when DIC have purchased the club and Rafa is still failing to win the league all the knifes will turn against the arabs.

Like Trewyn I am 100% convinced that DIC would be better for LFC than these Yank :censored:.

I only hope that G&H see sense and accept this offer today so that we can get DIC in ASAP. :)

They are not motivated by scarf sales or doing the right thing, they are motivated by money and the more focused the pressure, the more they revel in it.
Hicks right now is loving every moment, this is what gives him his daily buzz.

Honest to god part of me wonders if we're not better off just doing what some of the hardcore Mancs did in starting a team of their own.

I'm just sick, tired and frankly bored to tears with reading article after article where the beautiful game just becomes lost behind a raft of £ and $ signs. When can all of this sh*t just get put to bed and the football take centre stage again?

Our club's like a soap opera based in the backrooms of city banks, with a bit of football played every now and then as ad breaks.

LIVERPOOL, England (AP) -Liverpool co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett Jr. have rejected Dubai International Capital's bid for the Premier League club, The Associated Press has learned.

The 400 million pound (US$800 million) offer was immediately turned down, a person involved with the negotiations told the AP. He spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the situation.

DIC on Tuesday gave the Americans 24 hours to accept its offer.

Hicks is committed to retaining his 50 percent share in Liverpool while Gillett is reportedly willing to sell. Hicks has said he can block Gillett from selling his stake.

The duo bought the club last year for 218.9 million pounds (then US$431 million) - beating a rival bid from the Dubai consortium.

An anonymous person ?

Gillet wants to sell but has turned an offer to do so down ?

Maybe a bandwidth issue here with that site looking for traffic.

There's just too much noise and bullsh*t flying about now that I'm not listening to anything other than an official statement from the club. This has been dragging on too long.

I think we just have to carry on doing what we have been for the last couple of months - WAIT.
No official word has come from the club saying the deal has been rejected. We most certainly will hear something from Hicks very soon if there is any truth to that story being the little media whore that he is.
The information coming out from a lot of news sources claims that DIC have imposed a deadline of midnight tonight but Radio City have reported that DIC are denying that. DIC are only confirming they've put an offer on the table but NO deadline has as yet been imposed on that offer.

I may be praying in hope more than belief that the current silence from Hicks & Gillett (especially Hicks) is a good sign and that the offer hasn't been rejected straight out of hand.

Fingers, toes, legs, arms and pretty anything else I can I've got crossed at the moment.

On NewsNow there are more and more stories appearing saying the bid has been   rejected, the only saving grace is that they are all from US websites and still nothing has come out of the club or from Hicks Channel Tunnel sized mouth!!
