Funny old game.

To be fair I would fancy us against Barnsley with a 2 goal lead  :D

Where are the detractors tonight then ? :D

The Team may be schizophrenic in terms of performance on the pitch but thats nothing compared to some of the comments on here since Saturday.

I was gutted on Saturday as well especially after seeing the Mancs slaughter Arsenal 4-0 straight after our defeat but where were the cynics when United got stuffed 4-1 at HOME against Coventry in the Carling Cup ?

I was still smarting on Sunday and even worse after reading some of the disrespectful comments on here so I put my Shankly Tapes on and listened to someone who spoke more sense in a moment than many of us do in a lifetime ! :D

Did you see the fan running and hugging gerrard? quality  :D

i thought that was Riise? unless i saw the wrong hug still good tho

Riise was there but a cap wearing fan got in on the action too...until a steward pulled him away.

Great match....I was expecting a 1-1 draw so was very pleased.....if only the team's mindset was the same for league games

Still here mate, but taking my hat off tonight to a very good performance. I think the manager has a massive effect on how the team performs, therefore it's only fair and correct to pay him credit when the team plays as it did tonight.

It would be ridiculous to turn round and say "the way the team performed in this match is nothing to do with the manager. It's all down to the players/the owners/the ref sending that bloke off/Gerrard for scoring a great goal/Kuyt for not missing that chance." It's so ridiculous I'm not even going to go there. Themanager has shown once again that when he is focused on one match, the old "take each as it comes" mantra he has few equals. He did really well tonight under the most severe pressure and he deserves nothing but credit.

Even those of us who have been his severest critics, do actually like it when we win as well  :;):  :D

One thing is certain, however we go in the league nobody in this competition will fancy drawing us, I don't give a feck who they are.

great performance mighty reds.

mascherano was a monster

finnan reminded me of a young cafu haha

gerrard top quality

babel is improving

lucas didnt look out of place at that level

carra and hyypia were rocks

pennants crossing is still of a high quality when needed

crouch can turn games

kuyt wasnt so good as always but well done on the goal (i would love kuyt to be good cause i like the guy, its just he hasnt got any abilities which are above an average level)

happy times.

It feels good without all these Rafa bashers posting their negative comments on here.  It's just a shame when we get a bad result they will come crawling back out of their dark holes to talk more sh!t.
