I must say, if they weren't at the game its a massive indication of how bad things have become at the club.

Regardless of what the cynics say, Rafa must be under massive pressure.

Fantastic news, I'll wait until it's official until I crack open the cava though :)

It's funny isn't it, time was the only really reliable news sources were - BBC, Echo, Guardian et al. Now it's a guy called 'cowtownred', how times have changed :D

Football has a major problem at present and it's one of impatience. Success is not something thats built in some people's eyes, just bought and that saddens me particularly when it spreads outside of the boardroom and into the fanbase.

What people need to bear in mind is that "If" Rafa goes then just who do the Yanks think could emulate what Benitez has done for this club. A lot of people need to look back as recent as 6 or 7 years ago to see what a mess this great club was in instead of watching through the nostlagic glasses and believing we can be as dominate and be as good as we were 20 or so years ago without first putting the necessary foundations in.

Of everything that was contained in the recent Tomkins article I think perhaps the most conclusive piece of evidence that he IS getting things right is the fact that our Youth team have won the FA Cup in 2006 and 2007.

The press and sadly fans alike have short term goals and ambitions to conquer without putting the  adequate groundwork in first.

Yes, we could have hoped the Yanks pour 300Million in and buy the title like Chelsea did but wheres the long term satisfaction in that ? I suspect that beneath their bragging, Chelsea Fans yearn for the 70's when they were a force in football with a team built on hard work and endeavour and not just a team bankrolled to success by a dodgy Russian billionaire !

In Rafa We (well some of us anyway ) Trust.................. :D

I am assured that the sale to DIC/and other smaller investors is virtually concluded tonight.

But there are big rifts within our Club.

Present/new owners;  owners/manager.

Owners/manager/certain players.

Owners/new manager/players;

Supporters.

We still face a very uncertain period.  We need to expect a bit more turbulence before stability (hopefully) returns.

So lets be prepared for another hectic few months.  I hope all will settle down, and next season all we got to do is concentrate on the on pitch activities.  This season is a write off, but if all gets sorted in the next week or two, as it appears it will..  then expect comings and goings for a bit.

People in our Club have tied their flags to masts, and there will be winners and losers.  I'm not trying to be cryptic, but when the ownership saga is resolved, other issues remain.

Players will leave or be sold for example.  Don't ask, but all of you know that the current situation will be resolved with casualties

One more time from mr cowtownted on rawk.

We may have a sheikh without the Rafa and goals we have to wait and see, I think they want a clean break.
That means Rafa has gone and reading between the lines I think he will want that aswell.
