WOW according to CTR its already done unbelieveable.
I expect Rafa to leave and Gerrard and a few others just the feeling I get.

Why would Gerrard leave in these new and better circumstances with a manager who has more sense and is less stubborn and more money to spend on decent players around him? Why don't we all go while we're at it and rent out anfield back to everton

I don't agree with this and I've said so in the Inter thread, it's been a disgraceful season in the league and the entire club needs to ensure it doesn't happen again. WHEN we win the European Cup this season, I'll be over the moon and chuffed and filling up with tears, it won't take away the hurt of this season's league form. The Champions League, doesn't cover it up for me.

I haven't been reading to much in this thread recently, so can anyone give me a quick update, as I don't have the time to catch up all those pages? From what I can gather, it seems quite a lot of people are celebrating the fact, that we are gonna be sold to DIC. But where does this story come from? Is it all based on a rumour from RAWK, or is there actually more to it as of yet

The story is only coming from a poster - albeit a respected one I believe who's been on the ball with these sorts of rumours in the past on RAWK.
I think that a bit of the jubilation from last nights win may have clouded peoples judgment on this resulting in all of the premature ejaculation  celebration.
It does sound promising but being a bit of a wet blanket for a minute, it shouldn't be forgotten that we've had these kind of stories for two months now and still we haven't got DIC!!!

SINGAPORE (AFP) - Former Liverpool great Bruce Grobbelaar has lashed out at Rafa Benitez's much-maligned rotation policy, saying many retired players agree that it must stop.

Benitez's future looked bleak after he was heavily criticised for resting key players in Saturday's humiliating FA Cup defeat against Barnsley.

But he received some respite on Tuesday when they beat Inter Milan 2-0 in the Champions League.

Nevertheless Grobbelaar, who won 13 medals in 13 seasons at Liverpool, said a lot of former players were concerned at The Reds' slide this season.

They are 19 points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal, and are out of the FA Cup and Carling Cup.

"The ex-players are all hurt -- Ian Rush, Sammy Lee, Gary Gillespie, John Aldridge, Alan Kennedy, David Johnson. When we are together, that's what we talk about," he told the Straits Times newspaper.

"The rotation policy simply has to stop.

"Bob Paisley once said 'football is a simple game made complicated by players and coaches'. It's all about picking the best team and letting them get on with it in the park."

Grobbelaar, in Singapore as a pundit for ESPN Star Sports, added that American owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett were right to make an approach to Jurgen Klinsmann earlier this season.

"In business, if the manager is doing badly, the big bosses have every right to interview potential candidates to take over," he said.

"Why can't football be the same? Liverpool are not getting results. It's right for the Americans to talk to Klinsmann."

Following victory over Inter Milan, Benitez was quick to seize on the chance to defend his rotation policy.

"I rotate because I want to win. I have explained several times that you need to change players if you want to keep them all fresh," he said.

It seems like our American owners are paying these old guys to talk sh!t about Rafa.  Why weren't they criticizing the rotation before when we won the FA cup and the CL?  Why even say stuff like this when it's only going to do damage for the club?

Hmmm. I don't think it's right to approach Klinsmann. If you do so because you don't trust the manager, the logical step is to sack him.

Toshack isn't happy with Rafa either. He never has been. He has never commented rotation, but he always has kept saying Rafa is a very very lucky manager.

I think this forum is a bit like the old players. Some regulars, are like Globelaar or Aldo, critical with Rafa, and some others are more Rafa supporting, like Dalglish and his forum counterpart. We all are reds though, that's something not to forget when we discuss each other.

I admit it must be frustrating to post every day your reasons to dislike rotation and even under heavy pressure Rafa doesn't seem to move one iota his methodology.

Not too frustrating Sabes, I'm over the frustration myself now. I used to get frustrated with the real staunch Rafa supporters as they wouldn't listen to any type of sensible reasoning, but not so much anymore. I think the argument is probably just about over, certainly as far as the league is concerned anyway and you're only left with the real die hards who believe that one day, Rafa-style will work for us.

The real problem is of course that we don't just rotate the players, the positions and the formations but that we rotate our results as well, as in 1-2 at Home to Barnsley, three days later 2-0 at Home to Inter. Nothing to do with rotation though I wouldn't have thought, although Rafa seems to be alluding to the fact the players were fresher against Inter I said earlier it was only a matter of time before somebody said it was all down to rotation. I was joking of course and I certainly didn't expect it would be Rafa but he is full of surprises I'll give him that

I don't think there is anything wrong in looking round for a new manager, it always pays to plan ahead. I do think it was wrong to announce it.

Maybe thats a little hypocritical, but we think nothing of it when rumours abound that this player or that is being targeted for next season. I am sure the player who's position is under threat feels slightly threatened. But whereas a player can still remain with the team after the star is signed there can only be one manager (forget Evans and Houllier), so its even more intimidating. It also threatens his authority with the players if they think he's not going to be there when decisions will be made over their future. 

I am not even bothering getting into the rotation arguement.

As for old players comments it seems strange to me that when they say positive things its always welcomed and yet when they criticise someone or something they are "talking sh!t" etc. They are just "giving" their view and as long as its honest and not just for headlining I think their opinion should be taken into account.
