But thats all some fans keep harping on about the League i cant understand it . Give the man a chance 3 years  thats all 3 years and look what hes delieverd .

As i said to someone before if we would have got rid of Shanks after 3 years we wouldnt have no history it took him 6.
If Rafa stays then he will win us the league no doubt about it

Another thing i forgot to say before was some fans are unhappy that Rafa is speaking to the press regarding the situation at Anfield.

Well let me tell you know and those of you who have been going the game for years and years would understand what im about.

IF this would of happened while Shanks was the manager him just being a coach , you wouldnt just hear it in the press interviews , he would be on the :censored: pitch, mike in hand telling us his hands were being tied of what he wanted to do and every single fan would have backed him.

It's not looking good which ever way you look at it. As far as i can see (and let's be honest no-one really knows what's going on) both parties are to blame for where we are at.

On the Gillett/Hicks side:

It seems there has been a total communication breakdown. There is no genuine middle-man between Rafa and Hicks/Gillette and for me the owners have to bear responsibility for that, it's all very well saying foster Gillette will be along in ten years time to liaise with the manager. This needs to be rectified ASAP.

Hicks recent statement to the press about Rafa was like a teacher dressing down a naughty student. I don't wanna hear anymore rubbish about textile industries or commercial businesses. This is a football club and i can't recall hearing a chairman talk about his manager like that in public before. It shouldn't have come to this and maybe if a proper middleman (not Parry) had been brought in it might not have done.

On Rafa's side:

His comments in the press have been patronising to the new owners. He knows his quotes will be BIG soundbites for the English press, he knows they will anger Hicks/Gillette, unsettle and upset fans and they have. I believe he has a very good point, he has previoulsy lost out on transfer targets BECAUSE Parry/Moores dragged their heels in contact and negotiations and he doesn't want it to happen again. I can see he needs to get this across to the owners but to do it in public like this is crazy. The whole situation is a f..u..c...k up and i can only see it getting resolved IF Hicks/Gillette get themselves over NOW and the three of them sit down and talk things through in PRIVATE.

As a side note, with regards to waiting on Champions League qualification. surely making it out of the group stages will only actually guarantee another two/three of million in revenue? It's the gate for one match plus some TV money. I'm not sure why the transfer budget would be so dependent on this?

Excellent post mate, I wholeheartedly concur with you. This needs solving, and it needs solving NOW. Get over here right away mr. H & G and sort it out with Rafa.

From a Parry family member.

My understanding is Rafa is not going to be sacked, Hicks and Gillet have fallen out big time over the funding of the club, Hicks wants to go to the bank and gillet wants to stand by his word that no money will be borrowed, Gillet has been approached by a friend another Billioniare who has offered to purchase hicks half and because of all this there has been no money for transfer funds until it is settled, Also Hicks and Gillet are only speaking through Rick Parry. Plus Hicks wants to buy Roma posted on RAWK.

I can't quite believe the owners will sack the manager meself. just like that? Not without coming over first and trying to smooth things out. They might not be so happy with our progress in Europe this season but previous quotes from Hicks (who knows what Gillette thinks?) indicate that they have a lot of respect for Benitez, understand the relationship the club have with the fans and more importantly, understand the esteem in-which Rafa is held by (the majority) the fans.

Benitez renews attack on owners

Benitez has refused to back down in his dispute with the owners
Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has again risked the wrath of the club's American owners by openly questioning their transfer policy.
The Spaniard was told by club co-owner Tom Hicks to "quit talking about new players" after suggesting they were holding up his transfer plans.

But Benitez ignored that plea, saying: "They don't understand what the transfer window means in Europe.

"They need to understand how difficult it is to sign players."

News conference: Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez

The rift between Benitez and Liverpool's American owners is now considered to be so deep that a report in Sunday's News of the World suggests the Spaniard will be sacked imminently, with Jose Mourinho in line to replace him.

We need to talk to the agents now, if not we will lose targets

Rafael Benitez

Benitez himself admitted that the relationship had soured since a meeting after the draw with Arsenal on 28 October.

"We had a meeting which was really positive. After this something changed," he said.

"They told me to be focused on coaching and training because Rick Parry will be looking after signing players."

In a bizarre press conference ahead of Saturday's win over Newcastle, Benitez answered a series of questions with the words: "I am focused on training and coaching my team."

He even went as far as suggesting he could be a candidate for the England post.

That led Hicks to tell the Liverpool Echo: "We told him to concentrate on the games coming up. I guess he didn't like it.

"We will come over in December. That is the time to talk about other issues."

But Benitez insists December will be too late to discuss plans for the January transfer window.

"It's clear Mr Hicks wants the best for the club. So do I," he said.

"It's not a draft system. We have free players available now. I'm not talking about players that cost money.

"We need to talk to the agents now, if not we will lose targets.

"In the summer, the players will be more expensive. I have not been talking about spending but doing the opposite.

606: DEBATE
A major diplomatic incident has been sparked by Benitez's criticism

BBC Sport's Phil McNulty

"We have brought money back. We brought in £26m this year and you can see the value of the squad."

Benitez made a similar plea to the owners after the Champions League final in May.

The owners responded by spending close to £45m on the likes of Fernando Torres, Ryan Babel and Yossi Benayoun.

Benitez is now keen to tie up a £17m permanent deal for Javier Mascherano.

But his position could be further weakened if Liverpool fail to beat Porto on Wednesday - a result which would see them almost certainly eliminated from the Champions League.

Side note, whichever way you look at it Rafa has piled immense pressure on himself and the team with Wednesdays champions league game coming up. If we fail to beat Porto , expect those odds to alter dramatically .   :(

I disagree.

I beleive he has piled the pressure on himself and the owners and distracted the focus from the team.
