Kewell isnt fit so he is not even in the squad.

in my opinion it is obvious what are best team is.

I dont see how we cud pick any other team. Arbeloa is shockingly bad against top oposition and risse is the best left back in the league. babel has looked unstoppable when coming on but he still hasnt been given a full game and pennant tore cole apart last year. and quite simply torres and kuyt are our best strikers. if benitez does not play this team i will be very suprised having said that he does seem to rate arbeloa higher than anyone else in the world. :cool:

no offense guys... but i don't even understand why there are questions like is kewell fit? I've already even forgotten about him... even if he's fit he won't be match fit... rafa will play him if he thinks he's up to the level and then I will see how well he performs... he's not for us what ronaldo is for the mancs...

or maybe you just don't rate Messi. If Riise was the top left back in the league why would we be going after Hienze

Arbeloa's performance in the away leg against Barcelona was one of the stand out performances for me last season, made even more impressive in the fact that it was one of his first (if not the first?) games for the club. I definitely rate him, just not as much as Riise - who is also, as much as I like him, far from being the best left back in the league.

As for the lineup, Avalon88's looks pretty good to me, the reason we beat them last year (apart from Terry not being there) is because we attacked right from the start and got two goals to show for it - with that in mind I'd always pick Alonso ahead of Javier for this one.

To be honest, I've sat down and messed around with who I think should be in the side.

Bottom line - our best 11 (regardless of who we think that is right now) beats their best 11. Over the season we'll see whose squad is the stronger, but to be honest I just don't see us losing tomorrow. I'll be seriously disappointed with anything other than a win.

Gerrard Should be given the license to roam
Pennant Works Hard And will trouble their defences
Risse like to score against Chelski
Torres to prove his worth

2sd half : Throw in babel/voronin to attack on tired legs , change a game plan wif benanyoun
put in kuyt/crouch for physical presence and Itandje is Rafa decides that Reina is needed in midfield

shattered by the end of the first half. Glen Johnson is one of the worst players I've ever seen, Babel will wipe the floor with him. Let's really go for it. COME ON!

I have that feeling you get when you just can't wait for a game to start, because in all honesty Villa were never going to be that big a task whereas if we pull this off our season has really started.

Having said that, part of me sees Chelsea's start so far and thinks for the worst.
