I believe either Babel or Torres will score, hopefully both.

Knowing the probable line-up for chel$$$ki today and weighing their strengths and weaknesses, I will try to put in a game plan for this encounter. Of course no one for now surely, can tell what the ‘surprise’ starting 11 will be for Rafa - but what the hack, excuse me, let me have the thrill for now.

(Bench: Cudiccini, Johnson, Essien, Sidwell, Pizarro)

                      Cech
Fereira - Ben Haim - Terry - A. Cole
                    Makelele
            SWP - Lampard - Malouda
                Drogba - Kalou
----------------------------------------------------------------
                 Torres  -   Kuyt.
                       Gerrard
             Alonso      -      Pennant
                    Mascherano
    Riise   -   Agger   -  Carra    -  Finnan.
                          Reina

(Bench: Itandje, Crouch, Voronin, Yossi, Babel, Hypia)

For this mission, I go for:
1. Our ‘established horses’ will start up - with the exception of Torres.
2. In lightning strike pace, we go for an early kill - a goal or two within mins.
3. Ground attack, move ball swiftly into penalty box for a close range ‘kick as you like’ for a sure goal - profit from penalty or free kick (if any).
4. As for our back4 plus masch, it’s just another day’s job – to immobilize d ogba
5. Into 2nd half, as and when fatigue sips in, time to call in for air support – with crouch or either voronin, benayoun or babel as substitutions for Torres, Risse or even Stevie G’s toe needed a rest.
6. Throughout the period the 12th player, the kop, will chant and vibrate the terraces non stop till the end of the match - YNWA.

I believe today would be Crouch's 100th appearance (31 goals in 99 appearances so far) The games often overlooked are from the Club World Championship, I reckon his breakdown is :-

Premiership 64 (17 goals)
Champions League 23 (7 goals)
FA Cup 7 (3 goals)
Carling Cup 2 (1 goals)
Club World Championship 2 (2 goals)
Community Shield 1 (1 goal)

If you find a stat that suggests he's on 97 then check if it includes said Club World Championship

Interestingly he's played Chelsea TEN times and scored only once (Community Shield) When he scores Liverpool have never lost - 31 goals only stretch so far though! (1 hat-trick, 5 braces and 18 singles)

Crouch Scores P24 W23 D1 L0
Crouch Blanks P75 W37 D16 L22
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

Well, this is who Rafa will definitely put out:

25. Reina

3. Finnan
23. Carragher
5. Agger
17. Arbeloa

16. Pennant
8. Gerrard
14. Alonso
6. Riise

9. Torres
18. Kuyt

I've spent a long time wondering about Masch for Alonso, but as Alonso played no part in Toulouse, this is clearly Rafa's planning.  I also wondered about Babel for left wing, but I think Rafa will feel it is too early for Babel to start such a big game, so he'll stick with Riise and Arbeloa on the left, with Babel an early 2nd half sub.

Where this might come unstuck is Crouch starting instead of Kuyt, and Gerrard playing right with Alonso and Mascherano in the centre, but I'm sure Rafa and I will have a complete meeting of the minds...

Actually, this team just feels too predictable to be a Rafa selection!

I recan this would be the best team to play

25 Pepe Reina

3 Steve Finnan
5 Daniel Agger
23 Jamie Carragher
29 Gabriel Paletta

16 Jermaine Pennant
8 Steven Gerrard
14 Xabi Alonso

10 Andriy Voronin
19 Ryan Babel
9 Fernando Torres

Liverpool need the attack to put on chelses's back four.

Conditions should be nice and slick - none of this hoof it at 'em style. Pass and move. Keep SWP and Malouda quiet, Drogba out the area.

And we should...be alright.
