Unlike Cisse when Crouch controls the ball he manages to have it quite stick to his feet, which is useful to hold the ball a couple of seconds before delivering it to the team mates that are going up.

Crouch uses his sharp elbows well to protect the ball, and backwards to the goal, it's quite difficult to steal him the ball without actually making a foul.

He has a more than decent, I'd say even good footwork, he changes the ball of feet to make quick shots very well, he's technically good.

And he's not been expensive. I think that for some strange reason he's been underrated, and watch out, Valencia is thinking of paying 20 Million Euros for Zigic, a player of the same body of Crouch, but that IMHO is worse than Crouch.

More than one member of this forum might be surprised of what another team might pay for Crouchy at the end of this season, for me, too underrated.

i agree totaly .

could go for alot but i really dont want to see him leave unless he isnt getting more then 15 games a season that is i wouldnt like it if he lost to much playing time as he deserves alot more.  :glare:

I agree ... hope that he can improve on his jumping and heading . Once he got that right ... I think he will be Better than Rush ...

this entire conversation made me wee my pants..

He scores goals which is great of course but his overall play is not good enough, also the one thing he should be good at (heading and ariel presence) he is :censored: at.

IMO we can get somebody much much better than him, or at least more realiable.

I am fully aware people on this forum love him but I for one certainly do not

sorry but its just my opinion. :p

If a striker is scoring goals than what is there to complain about? And Crouch is one of England’s most technically gifted players, the way he controls the ball is nothing short of remarkable.

Is there any need to over emphasise Crouch’s height and linking it with superb heading ability? When a player is as composed and competent as Crouch is with the ball at his feet, and then there is little need to score goals with his head.

Henry is a tall player and is not infamous for scoring with his head; he doesn’t need to as his feet score the goals.

Until he quits riding on defenders' back while going for a high ball, he will always be a waste in high balls.

Yes there are players who has your listed attributes who can head the ball properly. Dean Ashton & Carew!!!

ive got a feeling man city might have an agreement in the next few weeks with liverpool for him, i personally dont mind him i dont think he will always be in our starting side as much this season anyway,  but will any of the strikers get a decent run? Crouch is a very good player to have in your squad and if he has a good supply i think he will score alot of goals and he has proved this before:cool:

Hmm strange vision you have then ;)

Kuyt was in his first prem.ship year for Liverpool clubtopscorer (scored more goals then Drogba in his first year)

Crouch last season: 31 played 9 goals
Crouch in season 2005/2006: 32 played 6 goals

That is not much for a striker.

People see it easy to complain about Crouch because he's an easy target. The truth is if the fella played the same amount of minutes as the other top sides forwards, he'd score as man goals. Lets stop having a go at our players and lets support them. Thats what being a Liverpool fan is about. Yes we've had bad players but we incourage them to improve rather than hoping they worsen. I've done it with Kuyt, don't rate him that highly, but I'm begging he proves me wrong. So stop having a go at players, by all means express opinions like he's had a bad game or he needs to improve this, but such language like he's sh!t, doesn't deserve to wear a red shirt, doesn't help players.

2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

Spot on !!!

To win prices need more than 11 players.
Crouch will have a go CL play this week.
Better express your support for the whole team, sure this year will be rocking !!  :buttrock

I see he's being linked with a move away again today. Personally I think it's all b#llocks. The guy will play a key part this season and will almost certainly start tomorrow. I mean Toulouse isnt exactly a league cup game is it?

Rafa was asked by a Spanish journo minutes before the game. Here, being in the bench is not as good as being in the pitch, but being out of the selection for the game is much worse than the bench and leads to questions.

Rafa, answered that we have so much quality now (he named Gerrard, ALonso, Crouch and Mascherano) that unlikely things like Crouch being out of a game may happen.

Villa game required pacy players, but it was a surprising decission nonetheless. Not more than a decission, I don't think Crouch is leaving. he's good enough, and he provides things that means points at the end of the season.

I don't think he will leave. He is a down to earth lad who i think appreciates that if you want to win things you have to have a big squad. He will have plenty of chances this season to show steve mclaren what he can do. I hope that he scores a few tomorrow and that should help him push for starts in the prem.

For what its worth I thought Voronin looked like he'd won a competition to play for you the other day, and Crouch would pretty much definitely have scored against us. Seems he's had a similar time to Liverpool as he did at the Villa, not a great start but a cult hero.

25 mill? Seriously?

For me Voronin will ( if he is given the games ) out score all of our other forwards, looks quality from what little i have seen and could turn out to be the bargain of the season.....watch this space ! :;):
