Jus coz we need a new striker dosnt mean we should just settle for someone who's decent coz their cheap. Im hoping all this Bellamy specualtion is just paper talk, because i really dont think he is what we need.

im quite suprised people are only mentioning his attitutude as a reason not to sign him. How about the fact that he is not good enough to play for this club aswell. Granted he had a good season last season, but he has never been prolific, and in my mind he is just another overated pace player, we need an out and out goalscorer, can you see Craig Bellamy firing us to premiership glory next season? coz i cant.

Oh yeah he's a complete and utter c*** aswell

I trust Rafa to decide if hes good enough but I wouldnt trust a PSYCHIATRIST to decide on Bellamys mental problems. I just hope Rafa isnt being forced into taking Bellamy due to lack of funds. We should be buying the best striker for the job not just because the price is right. As to his goal scoring abilities you are right his record is poor and he seems to have had more injuries than Michael Owen.

I do agree ( I hope we will sign Defoe ) but this Liverpool is lead by Rafa . If Rafa wants Bellamy, I think he will get Bellamy ...

If we do get Bellamy we will know by the end of this week as the 6M clause runs out at the end of this week and im sure Rafa will want to get other players like Alves tied up if he can.

It is pretty much a given that our goal keeper, defence and central midfield is where we need to be, our lacking has come in the forward line.

Gonzales, and Alves on the wings feeding Bellamy with Gerrard running on, Xabi slipping them in and Momo clearing up is awesome.

How's his injury problems? Didn't he have terrible trouble with his knees?

I am not in the slightest bit worried about the prospect of signing Bellamy, he might have a bad reputation, but how many others have fallen out with Graeme Souness in the past ? He has made mistakes and plays with a scowl on his face but i think he is a winner.
Or put it this way he doesnt like losing.
He may not have scored enough in the past, but he was fantastic last season and scored some brilliant goals, with either foot. His game has improved so much in the last few seasons, and he is always a threat.
I think he would be a fantastic signing and hope the deal is completed this week.

I don't know wheter I should post this or not.. but here goes..

I've got a mate who works at the club, not very high up but doing an important job.  He has got about a 75% succes rate in transfer and rumours.. HOWEVER, he dropped something this weekend which I don't think I can believe.

He reckons that Bellamy is a smoke screen and after the world cup we are going to sign Ruud van Nistlerooy.

I can't see this happening for a number of reasons but he said that is what is going around the camp at the moment...
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

I like most on here have my worries, but imo the lad is talented and at 6m could be a bargain.

Considering the other options that are out there and like everyone else i don't no what are transfer kitty is, i think it would be  a good bit of business.

Kuyt, owen , Defoe, Bent and others you could mention would all cost over 10m, so at 6m you wuld be getting a proven premiership striker who can score goals with both feet and has pace and seems to have a footballing brain.

The only down side and it's a pretty big one ,is that the lad is a kn@b and seems to be a disruptive influence.
I personally think that Rafa has the squad unified under his system and he will obviously let Bellamy know what is expected of him to fit into the system, and the likes of Gerrard and Carra would let him know soon enough if he was being a kn@b.
