If he loses his rag or gets injured, they are fooked.

Perhaps.

I just go on the reactions I've seen.

When Rooney got injured in Euro 2004, England were all over the place. When he got injured this time, people were talking as if it was all over for England, despite the other talented players they had.

The fact Sven chose him despite being injured and unlikely to play shows that there IS a level of dependence on him. Whether rational or not.
