Monaco and Porto through to the CL final .who would have thought that two relatively small fish would perform so well. Good luck to both teams but surely LIVERPOOL are a bigger club how come they can do it and we can't . Could it be management ? have we bought well in recent years ? are we just unlucky ? fkd if i know, do you ?   :p  :(

just the way the cookie crumbles i guess. Koreas did well in the world cup, strange things happen. an on form team doesnt need millions spent, soetimes it just clicks, this is just depressing me now tho

of course they are not, and never will be bigger clubs than us. nobody expected either team to get anywhere near the final this season

it's simple. it's a case of out with the old and in with the new. the two clubs you mentioned both have superb young managers who know the game inside out and get the best out of their players.

Porto and Monaco aren't so big clubs..(and certainly never bigger than LFC)

Their squad are not superb-but enough...And Deschamps and Maurinho are very smart and diciplined managers..That's why these two clubs are so successful..

WE ARE A BIGGER CLUB BUT NOT A BETTER TEAM. BUT EVERY TEAM GOES THROUGH PATCHES LIKE THIS AND WE'LL BE BACK(NEXT SEASON HOPEFULLY) CHALLENGIN FOR TOP EUROPEAN AND DOMESTIC HONOURS. WE JUST HAVE WALK ON THROUGH THE STORM
Steve Gerrard Gerrard,
He'll pass the ball 40 yards,
He's quick and he's f*cking hard,
Steve Gerrard Gerrard.

I dunno Porto has being going really well the last few years, as stapo said previously, they are not bigger clubs, but they are better teams.

As to them never being bigger clubs? If porto continues like it is, and we continue like we are, the number of European titles will stack up and they will undeniably take their place in history. Its bith naive and arrogant to say never.
Football is a simple game, all you have to do is pass the ball to a player in a red shirt.

They are not bigger than us, but they don't have BISCAN, TRAORE, and HESKEY

And their manager's name is not Gerard Houllier. :D

My girlfriend is Portuguese: she originates from a place called Via Nova Gaia, which is two minutes away from Porto.
I have been to the Estadio Do Dragao (porto's stadium) a few times, and although they haven't an expensive squad, they are a solid, consistent and hard-working team.
Overall, even though I hate to admit it - they are better than us!!!
