Houllier babble - He's off again

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Houllier has high hopes for saturday obviously

HOULLIER'S VIEW

Man Utd v Liverpool

Gerard Houllier believes a trip to Old Trafford is the perfect tonic to lift Liverpool from their recent slump that has seen them take one point from nine.

"We usually do well at Manchester United (what about last season - 4-0 anyone???) and the best teams usually bring the best out of us (lost to all top 3 at Anfield this season, and Marseille!!!)," Houllier said.

"Even if we only get a point (already playing for a draw!!!), that could be a lead of an inch (What?!?) which would be important at the end of the season.

"Fourth place is still there for the taking. We need to go the extra mile but be careful in our approach." (Contradiction or what? go that extra mile - but be careful - he is truelly mad!!)

Despite a woeful run of results, Houllier believes that Liverpool could be fated to finish in fourth.

"I've told the players to consider results elsewhere, which are going our way, as something of a sign," (Where's the faith healers - Glenn Hoddle anybody!!) he added.

"There's no point regretting things and the situation is back in our hands (Apart from Newcastles game in hand!!).

"We have four [games] left, Newcastle have five, but three of their games are away, including the game against us.

"I think we would settle for it going to the last game against Newcastle. (Why not settle for being 4 points ahead of Newcastle going into the last game!!) The situation is now so similar to the run-in against Chelsea last season."

i'm sorry but the cr#p this guy comes out with is truly unbelievable. the guy is just settling for mediocrity and still can claim that this season has been a success if we finish 4th.

Yep - If we finish 4th you can count on Houllier championing the achievement. GH has become the spin master and i can almost hear him saying it now ' le boys worked really hard, i'm proud of them, they showed elot of character, the spirit is excellent, we achieved the goal we set out for blah blah blah'

You must all know he is staying for another season. I'm depressed :(

Well done Gerard. WITH RESULTS GOING OUR WAY, why settle for being the league champion next year? We could be winning the Champions League as well.
This guy is ill, he is hallucinating ahead of the game aganist the Mancs. Forget Houllier...Let's go Gerrard and co !

I read something he said about Kewell and his disappointing form - it started well but he then mentioned (or effectively blamed it on) his ankle injury ???

The guy is seriously deluded.

We may scrape into the Champion's league, but we won't make any impact. We are simply not good enough.

Houllier has simply taken us as far as he can, the players he has bought are simply not good enough. Liverpool FC (Steven Gerrard aside) are simply not performing to a satisfactory level and certainly not to a Champion's League standard.

New players are needed. The dead weight needs to be cut.

A new manager is required. A fresh approach and some passion.

It could be Martin O'Neill, it could be someone else.

Whoever can get the job done and bring us the title is needed. I don't care who they are.

yeah i do think that more fans would be behind houllier if he showed more passion during games. most of the time he seems to be either laughing or crying.

It really is sad, particularly when a manager can't resist going to press with one stupid comment after another. The press guys just love him at the moment - pure cannon fodder!
He seems to spend most of his time during the game thinking about what he will say to the press afterwards.
He makes Eric Cantona's ramblings sound like shear bloody poetry.
I give up!!!!

The man is the master of talking absolute contradictory nonse,he lost his marbles ages ago i find there is no longer a point in paying any kind of attention to what the sherminator has to say....
Just watch if by some unatural force  we beat the Mancs just how many corners we have turned including diverting off of spaggetti junction, the man's a loonatic...

HE'S OFF AGAIN:

Gerard Houllier today brushed off the continued criticism of Liverpool's season by insisting: "It'll be a massive achievement if we finish fourth."
The Liverpool manager revealed he no longer reads the speculative stories doing the rounds in the morning newspapers, preferring instead to concentrate his energy on preparing his team for the final three games of the season.

And Houllier reckons that, when everything is taken into account, the players have every right to feel proud of their season's work if they secure a fourth place finish.

He said: "I don't care what people think, if we finish fourth then it will be a massive achievement for us.

"Despite everything that has gone against us this season - injuries, refereeing decisions and other problems - we are still in there competing and battling. If we manage to finish fourth then we will be pleased we have brought some joy to the supporters.

"I think if we'd kept our best players fit for most of the season then we would have been challenging for second or third. I doubt we'd have challenged for first because Arsenal have been as good this season as they were two years ago when we came second to them.

"We just haven't been as clinical as we could have been at times. We're not a boring team though. You can check the facts and you'll see that we have had more shots on goal than any other team this season.

"I'm relaxed about the final three games. It's not about me. It's about all of us working for the good of the club to try and finish as best we can."
Pirrie Labour Club 1976 Bill Shankly Prize giving at local ABA Championships.

"You've been booked in to do a three round exhibition bout tonight Bill."

" My fights don't last three rounds SON!"

Frightening the amount of cr#p the man talks!
I can't work out wheter he's desperate or deluded.

Every single statement he manages to squeeze in some comment about "injuries"! He's had pretty much a full squad since January and haven't exactly set the world alight since then!

Wish I hadn't read that, it's too depressing to think we've probably got another year of the same sh##e. :(

The muppet should be locked up as he is dangerously deluded and has lost all grasp of reality.
This is nothing new and surely we only have another 3 games to put up with his incompetence.
We need him out otherwise we will be struggling for 4th again next season.
Smith to Shankly:My thigh is a bit sore, but I think I could play.
Shankly to Fagan:Tell him,Joe.He has got no chance of playing.
Smith to Fagan:Tell him to sod off.It is not his leg,it's mine.
Shankly to Smith:Oh no son.You are wrong, son. It is not your leg.
It is Liverpool Football Club's leg.
