andrew johnson  ???

I think I can safely say for the first time in my life on this board that I know something that nobody else does. One of the door lads at work is a big Chelsea fan (lucky me, eh?) and he lent me the John Terry book about last season, anybody else read it? thought not.   :D . Anyways, in the book which I skimmed through TBH, (the chapter on the CL semi is a great read) Terry goes really overboard about how much he rates Johnson.
For my part, I spent the whole of last season berating him until we played Palace away last season. It was one of only a couple of games I got to all year and we were terrible. There was little to watch but Johnson who impressed me greatly. He scored the winner with a clever header but it was the subtlety and craft of his movement which caught the eye. I said at the time that it was similar to watching a younger more mobile Michael Owen and stand by that. I'm not necessarily saying "let's buy Johnson" but for sure if you are going for a big guy little guy combo you could do worse.

Crouch is a Hold the ball type player, ie, controling the ball turning and then passing, I would but crouch in support role, and maybe Cisse just in front of him.

Actually if u think crouch will score loads of goals if he had decent service from the wing.....then i have to disagree with u.

Crouch was never a great goal-scorer. He is not mobile enough. Does not have the pace to get on the end of the crosses if he is marked tightly. He does not even jump well.

He has to have someone to play off him..... He can't do it alone up there.

thats why he scored 16 goals last season  :lookaround

I have always had my doubts about Crouch. When he came i expected he would be a squad player who would get put on in the dying stages of games we were struggling in (bit like Fergerson for the bitters). I did not expect to see him placed up front on his own as our main striker. To be honest Cisse has been a bit of a disappointment in my book. I know he's been out for a long time and this season he hasn't played much, but my argument is if he is that good he would have scored from the oportunities he's had. I really think not signing Owen was a big mistake, even though he cost £8m more than we sold him for. So what £16m is :censored: peanuts for a striker like that. Then we would have had alot more options.
