i just wanted to ask, if fowler can be registered for the champions league...

firstly as he cant be cup-tied

secondly, as an already registered player i.e sinama-pongolle has now effectively been omitted from the tournament by going on loan, to a club not even IN europe..

in that light can robbie not be placed in the squad, in other words take flo's place.. seeing as he meets all the criteria for the damn thing. except of course the obvious point of not being first registered in UEFA's original squad submission....

or have i answered my own question...

As far as I know he is eligible.

Interestingly, Middlesboro's Fabio Rochemback has been allowed play for them in the UEFA Cup despite him playing some CL qualifiers for SPorting Lisbon.

It is about cup competition, so it was not the same competition then it is fine. It is a rule so that one player can not effect the destiny of the cup awarded for that competition unfairly.

Robbie will be fine.

Also, did you think that the fact there is a January transfer window would not be a give away as to wether or not players could be registered for Europe ?

no need for the dramatics, just a question i proposed best answered by you lot...however trivial.

and it certainly falls well short of the usual tripe masquerading as input in here recently. even if, in the grand scheme of things its not exactly a rip-roarer of a thread.

i just presumed uefa would need the full registration at the start of their 05/06 season in order for fowler to be involved, im pleasantly surprised to learn that he is eligible.....thats all you had to answer me with. and thanks to those who have.

you have to really watch your step in here at times and its little wonder most of the serious posters are abstaining while the fallout from lfc.tv settles....everyone seems dead tetchy and well up for a 'dig' at the moment. its spoiling a great place. and it makes you think twice about even opening your gob anymore for fear of being shot down. for asking an innocent query........in a liverpool forum!  jeez

its simple..anyone can spot the numpties in here a mile off. most of us are big and ugly enough to see that. what gets my goat is..every single poster in here at times throws up a 'dud' and straight away (depending on whose mate they are) gets slaughtered for it. who the hell else is going to tell me robbie fowler is eligible for the champions league? i didnt know that?

yer i thought that leon, but seeing as we lose an already registered striker with flo, i just wondered if you could replace one in those circumstances, obviously one who wasnt previously ineligible.

you know what theyre like. and i dont think we have any favours left in the bank when it comes to that shower of limp-wrists! id be surprised anyway
