I think Crouch will be a great signing for us anad always have!! Looking forward to seeing him getting a few games under his belt,hope he scores pretty  quick for his confidence!
He needs to as he knows a lot of Pool fans are sceptical of  his ability!
Good luck to the big fella,will be delighted for him if he starts and scores against Spurs!!

I’m making an educated guess here A.B, and I may be wrong, so don’t bite my head off, but I’m quiet sure that Rafa did not by Carew and in fact tried to sell him many times and in the end let him go out on loan to Roma.

But I see what you’re saying in terms of Crouch being similar to Carew, but Rafa used Mista for that sort of role.

Crouch is sure to bring out the best in our other strikers, esp Cisse and Flo.
I am quite sure he will start on saturday as a lone striker. Rafa has learned from last season, and he will make very physical team selections when playing away from home.

crouch will be great signing for us i truly believe that he his gonna bring his game to the top level and be as important to us as quinn was to sunderland. The lad is a good player

The good thing with Crouchie is he is a different kind of forward to what we have got,Im like most others here and im eagely awaiting to see how he plays his role in the team.
I think he may well become a very effective player for us,although i dont expect him to bang in 20 goals a season i do think he will play a huge role in assists,and bringing others into the game more.

You simply cannot learn height and that will definitely give us another dimension that is going to give us an absolute advantage. But of course, we need constant supply of crosses to make it work. But just hope we do not fall into a habit of blind crossing regardless of who play upfront.

When talking of Crouch people automaticly presume his height is his greatest attribute,i personally think he has a lot more to his game.

But as Akumface said i hope we dont start to pump long balls up to him all day long (Sami Hyypia) ,I hope we  mix up the style more..

Cisse will play in the first half and maybe the last 20min RB will let him play ...

in an ideal formation.....crouch & cisse has to start every-game....i know i know, rafa doesn't play that way  ,

but juz think about it.

1)Crouch can score goals when we use route 1 (ie...long ball from reina, hyppia & alonso - crouch heads it home, header from corner)

2)Cisse will score goals from lay-offs from crouch or when we counter-attack the opposition.

But guess we might see this only in home matches.
