Anyone heard if he's fit for tomorrow? I know about a week ago he said he was hoping to return on Saturday but haven't heard anything since.

He returned as a 63rd minutes sub. And that was last Wednesday, so he would have had 10 days training by the time the Tottenham game is here.

He won't start Crouch cos Cisse will start, unless he has seen the light and plays a 4-4-2 ???

Dya think so ?
I hope he starts both, but if i had to put money on one it would be Crouch, he has gone on about Crouch being whats needed for tricky away games, and Cisse is also carrying a slight ankle knock.
But i would also play both.

Well he came on the last 15 minutes against Ireland yesterday so hopefully its just a slight knock he had, i didnt watch him yesterday so not sure whether he looked sharp.
I hope he starts his pace away from home on the counter could prove vital...and he scored a good goal on his debut there last season.

seems unbelievable in a way that we are the champions of europe and we are deperate worrying if peter crouch will be fit or not. :D

nah, i hope he's back. i was one of the few who said that crouch will be a good signing for us and i stand by that. i think he's very underrated in certain quarters and especially with baros now gone and nobody coming in, he'll be vital for us, especially in away games if we're playing one upfront.

I must admit I was far from doing cartwheels when we signed him but now I've had time to think about it I'm really looking forward to seeing what somebody with Crouches un-liverpool-like (if there is such a thing) attributes brings to the table. Let's hope he's fit, I for one will definately be singing his name if he ripples that onion bag down at the lane on saturday.

Cisse and Crouch playing together was one of the more successful partnerships during pre season, the 2 are complete opposites so they compliment each other well. I just hope the concept of 4-4-2 is something Rafa would consider.

Well it seems that Crouch will be available for the Tottenham game on Saturday. He played 25 minutes Wednesday last week, and has probably been in training since.

I think he'll start as the lone striker, with either Gerrard or Garcia playing off him. Well that is what he has been bought for, now lets see him do it. I think Gerrard playing off Crouch could be really productive, but it still doesn’t solve our problem of having really average wingers.

i'd like to see Crouch and Cisse play upfront together saturday.  They looked good in our CL qualifiers.

Well it seems like the obvious choice, what with one being tall and good at heading the ball and the other being fast and a goal scorer, but it isn’t really the way Rafa plays and neither do many top teams.

And I wouldn’t get too excited about what they did in the qualifiers against very poor opposition, that’s not to say they wont do well as a partnership in the Premiership because they may well.

But the reason Rafa bought Crouch is because his game is suited to playing as a lone striker with midfield support. Crouch is not very quick, and wont get the ball, turn and then run at players an awful lot, he more of a player who receives the ball hold it until he get good support, then passes and then moves, and that is the sort of striker Rafa wants, especially away from home.
