Many fans proclaim their faith in Rafa ,fair enough the fella has just guided us to a stunning success in the CL .I do however wonder if that faith will be as strong this time next year if he signs Crouch . Apart from my own resevations and many others expressed by other fans in this forum , what really bothers me is that (Southampton management aside ) I have not heard Crouch described as anything more than a good player by people inside the game . Today on sky our own Alan Kennedy described him as a "decent" player . Should we be paying a huge wedge of cash for a "decent player" ? .

Nobody is infallible ,and although I belong to the "back yer manager" school I think Rafa could be getting this one wrong .

dirk kuijt would only cost 2 million more than the been pole and in my humble opinion is a far better prospect!

i think he will be a good signing to be honest mate.
but lets face it, even if he`s not rafa wouldnt be the only coach in the world who`s ever made a poor signing.

..........now that you mention it why would you prefer kuyt over crouch?

crouch is taller than kuyt.
crouch has played in premiership.
crouch is still young.
crouch has good footwork for his height.
crouch is ENGLISH, which will benefit us when the new rule comes in.
crouch is breaking into the england squad when in saints team (imagine his quality when playin for liverpool!)

i seriously duno abt the buying of crouch, one thing for sure, he is young and has a gd touch and not bad at heading.. so imagine, moro team up with cisse, then crouch team up with baros, u see, that will prove a huge difference.. dun care if the millions spent is over the odds, the most important thing is that he is the player we need, he may not be well known, but he is certainly useful, and can be better..

some players are late when fulfilling their full potential, crouch is one of them, he may suck in the past with other teams, but he certainly has the potential to flourish in liverpool, coz he still got yrs to do that.

with him on board, i can dare say, the liverpool strikeforce is very stable, can play high ball, can play fast, with cisse, and play tactical ,with moro and crouch..

why not give him a chance.

Harry Redknapp just said in an interview to Skysports that he will only let Peter Crouch go if he can find a replacement which is quite difficult.

Lets hope he doesn't find replacement and keep Crouch there.
