Just thinking, we've three right backs out now. Who is going to play there? Slot doesn't rate Ramsay. Dunno if Beck is an option either

Keep Grav at CB and Dom as a 6. We are moving the ball way quicker with this set up. Them 2 have been guilty of taking too many touches, but theyre just getting on with it tonight. Wirtz needs to play 10 every Game

Am I harsh on saying that Chiesa is going backwards?

Nyoni has done well. Rio not so good, doesn't make the right decisions

Hes rushing everything.. this is what happens when you give players limited time to shine.

He looks a shadow of the player he was 4 years ago. Not sure if he can get anywhere near that level again unfortunately

Good win on the night and credit where it's due, after a ropey start to this competition we've rallied well to finish 3rd. After we lost in Turkey i would have been happy to finish in the play off's so as i say, credit where it's due.

Yeah not a bad finish in the league phase considering our season. League phase means nothing though, as we saw last season. PSG for example again did not finish in the top 8, Real Madrid as well.

This time around we might get a better draw in the last 16 though. If I'm not mistaken we'll be playing the winner between Juventus and Galatasaray. Wouldn't want the Turks but wouldn't mind Juventus tbh.

Good win and performance, we're more suited to play in Europe, I think Slot will focus more on thsi competition, especially when we start to drift down the epl table.

Turned out to be a bit of a pre season friendly in the end. The difference in quality was too much for them to make any real impact on the game.

Good for us to get a few goals on the board which will hopefully boost the overall confidence of the team. Dissapointing that Frimpong adds to the injury list.

My observations from being at the match.

We started off playing our usual rigid formation, only after getting the 3rd of 4th did the lads relax and they enjoyed themselves playing the kind of football they enjoy playing. The change was noticeable.
Mo is a shadow of his former self. he stays isolated out on the wing, lacks the speed to rush on goal and he had only 1 or 2 underwhelming shots. Obviously his free kick was superb but for a £400k a week player with another season on the books, he's past it guys, we need to let him go to Saudi this summer.
Still too many short passes over complicating build ups, get the ball in range of goal and just bang the fecking thing. Watching Rio tie himself in knots is not fun and young Nyoni trying to play pretty football is just so wrong. Fowler, Owen, Gerrard were all more brutal in front of goal, these lads need to do the same.
The back 4 situation is clearly a disaster with Frimpong out again. Endo is a firey lad and will do his best but he's not Trent in attack and and he's not Bradley in defence. Well done Gravenberch for doing will at CB but what a pain in the @ss.
Overall positive but.. y'know... Guess we should be thankful for the automatic qualification.
And a nice pint in The Old Barn pub after.
