I feel sorry for Grav.. whenever he makes a blunder he just can't seem to let it go mentally. That bad tackle was still affecting him right until he had to take a pen in the shootout. Just glad we got over the line because this cup is winnable this season.

Some good performances out there tonight. Got away with a chance or two for the chav filth though. Couple of good saves kept us in it. And them too.
Hendo is too much of a pro to not want to win or not take a peno but it still sticks in my throat that he went to them. Same for Xabi. Horrible horrible club.
We need to build on this and take that hunger and aggression and movement into the weekend fixture.
I'm happy for Iraola, it seems to be working so far.

Jeez, another tough draw in the next round, at least we are at home though.

Not a competition I rate, but always good to get a win over that shower.

With some competent strikers in the starting 11, we could have put the tie to bed long before the pens. But lots of positive signs that we’re moving in the right direction.

Ha another one over Chelsea, how many times we've done them over in competitions is hilarious.

So Bournemouth next hmmm. Had Brighton beaten City in pens it would've been great, those cheats will prolly get to the final and win it.

‘This was a terrific cup tie, absorbing and with plenty of edge. It was helped by the absence of VAR and the standard of officiating was superb, contributing to a throwback game when tackles went in and everyone carried on with it, not worried about Stockley Park becoming involved.’

The Football Association (The FA) generated revenue of £516 million for the 2024–25 financial season (released in April 2026).
The EFL Cup winners receive £100,000 in tournament prize money, and a minimum £797,400 for competing in the Conference League.
The winner of the FA Cup final receive £2,120,000, while the runner-up receives £1,060,000.

In comparison 10 clubs made more than $100 million from last years CL:
2025–26 Champions League Revenue
1. PSG  $170.9 million
2. Arsenal $167.8 million
3. Bayern Munich $149 million
4. Liverpool $128.2 million
5. Atlético Madrid $122 million
6. Real Madrid $121.2 million
7. Barcelona $116.4 million
8. Man City $113.5 million
9. Chelsea $107.9 million
10. Tottenham $100 million

The FA are failing to promote and develop these cups in the modern multi media era and are killing them off. The Carabao Cup is already a tournament for  Reserve teams where the prize money is meaningless.
Liverpool FC's estimated gross weekly wage bill for the playing squad is @£4,238,000 per week (@£220.4 million pa) for the 2026–27 season, not including performance bonuses.

It's sad because we see the capitulation of domestic trophies that used to be the bread and butter of British football as the juggernauts of UEFA and FIFA redesign European and Global football. Taken to it's logical conclusion the Premier League will be targeted by UEFA's Super League and if they don't do it soon, FIFA will propose a Global Super League. The bag men will reduce national cups and leagues to nothingness, the CL new league format and this summers expanded World Cup are the future.

How sad, how unnecessary.
