Wow Salahs interview he's just said that the club hasn't talked about him about his contract. How?

Impressive by Salah. Very few players are honest when it comes to contracts but he cut the bullcrap.
TTA and VVD will be the same even they don't say it out loud

Well I think we all expected Salah to leave but I hope it won't be the same with Virgil and Trent.

Why can't we offer Virgil the same wages for another 4 years and keep him until he's 37. He can keep going until he's 35 for sure and only a year or two are a risk. If we could afford to pay Thiago to be injured for years we can afford to risk it with Virgil.

The Salah one is insane to me.. he's 32, in incredible shape, still putting our incredible numbers. I reckon he could keep these numbers up until 35. Give him a 3 year deal as a thank you, then he can ride into the sunset as a icon.

LMAO. You REALLY think FSG will had out money as a "thank you". Are you having a f***ing laugh?
There is NO WAY they will give a contract that will continue to pay Salah the same wage into his mid 30s...

It won't be the wage that's the sticking point, it'll be the length of the contract.

Mo is probably looking for a 3 year deal. We are probably looking at 1 or 2 years, max.

My understanding of Mo’s statement was that if FSG don’t offer him a contract then this will be his last year. As yet, it is not a fait au complet and there are 4 months for discussions to take place before Mo can sign a pre contract with another club and go on a free next summer. FSG to date have certainly been prepared to negotiate and offer him what he deserves without being overly concerned about the effect Mo’s pay structure will have on other players.

I remember players like Suarez and Salah playing out of their skin during contract negotiations then cooling off when they signed. Let’s leave it late and have him play as long as possible proving he’s still worth it. He doesn’t need to sign a pre contract in January with another club as his stock is high anyway. The whole situation is in his hands.

If the club do offer him a new contract then I hope it is after the season ends. I like a Salah with a point to prove. If he signs his intensity will drop like it did last time he signed.

No reason to not be offering Virgil a contract right now though. Still among the best defenders in the world and it doesn't seem like he's slowing down any time soon. I mean in literal sense he is a bit slower but fortunately he has the brains to work around that. Unless he's asking for some crazy money then giving him a 3 year contract shouldn't be a problem for us.

I read that he will be offered more than Ronaldo to go to Saudi, cannot see him turning that down.

Sorry mate, I mentioned Virgil above but you're talking about Salah I assume?

The Saudis can always pay double than what we can that's for sure, but IMO Salah is after glory as well, he wants to break records and win a few more titles before he goes to somewhere irrelevant. He's after some Premier League records as well so I do believe he wants to stay with us but wants to be payed for it too. Not as much as the Saudis are offering but he must be asking for some sort of a raise to his already big salary (makes double more than everyone except Virgil i believe).

I understand the club's position of not wanting to go overboard with both his salary and the length of his contract but the least they can do is offer him one and let him refuse it, at least we'll know what Mo's motivations are.

Every player who has gone to Saudi has disappeared off the face of the earth, it truly is the end of your career, high profile lifestyle etc.. No player of Mo's status wants that, he has so much more to offer.
