CRAZY Mbappe DEAL !!!

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

If anybody was reluctant to believe that football transfer fees and wages have gone mad then just take a look at this;
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/61522315

Goodness knows what sort of contractual negotiating power this gives Salah and Mané. Much older than Mbappé but frightening figures all the same. €150m signing on fee for a player to resign is simply unbelievable !! £650k weekly wages !! Plus the majority of image rights !! Top players will simply run their contracts down if they think they can negotiate something similar to Mbappe.
Net Spend Over The Last 5 Years (10 years
are in brackets)
LFC £255m (£467m)
Everton £38m (£287m)
Arsenal £645m6 (£925m)
Spurs £510m (£541m)
Chelsea £788m (£1007m)
Man City £307m (£1012m)
Man United £702m (£1249m)

What it shows is that we shouldn't try to compete with any of the financial doped clubs. If one of our players comes to us and says that they are being offered crazy oil money to move then we should pat them on the back, say congratulations, and wish them all the best. No hard feelings. We just need to stay in our lane financially and do it in our own way and not do a Barcelona and damage the club.

High profile celebrity players like Haaland and Mbappe have commercial value but they do bring a circus with them that I don't think Klopp is too fond on. I don't think we'll chase after too many of those types of players especially when you start looking at agent fees and money being paid to family "representatives".

This sort of thing will also reignite the push for a ESL from the traditional big clubs who are not funded by oil money.

Football has gone to Sh*t is all I'll say. Some small countries have smaller budgets than what Mbappe's new contract is worth. Hell, not just football, we've failed as a society if mere entertainers can earn this much.

Its a joke and to justify it, Qatar owners just launder more cash through a Qatari business and calls it sponsorship. Its about time that FIFA bring in new regulations stating nobody with a connection to any government can own or part own a football club.

It is disgusting to say the least, eagle is right we shouldn't compete with ***** like that. Why hinder our progress and be in dept funding just one player. Giving astronomical amount to one player and still no UCL. Football is becoming a joke, you begin to think are players doing it for the money rather than success??!
