Where's his thread gone?

Anyway, he's been talking about his desire to manage Liverpool again. He's doing his badges this season. Good to know he should still be around beyond the sad day he hangs up his boots.

I expect his thread is in the players lounge possibly mate ?

And I would always prefer Carra as a manager - think he would be a better manager

Never really get that future manager feeling from Stevie G, hes too quiet and reserved.

He mentioned Carra. Said he was pleased Carra was in punditry because it leaves managing Liverpool to him

I was very suprised Carra opted out of it all to be honest. I dare say he won't be gone long. But if he sticks with his choice, good luck to him. I'm not sure anyone understands his choice. He never seemed overly keen on the cameras.

Because its pretty well known that Carra is a massive tactical geek , studies the game every single day - constantly involved in the coaching when we was doing his badges and already been highlighted as a future manager by both Kenny and Rafa - only have to read Carras book to see how much he knows about the game

Where as Gerrard switches off from the game when he isn't training - prefers to spend time playing golf or with his family.

Carra lives and breathes the game - Gerrard not as much.

He's doing his badges this season!

So does he really switch off after training?

Next time you speak to your old mate Gerrard, ask if he can send me a signed copy of one of his shirts.

We have a good manager at the moment who is only 41 years old.  If things really work out, and I have a feeling they will, Stevie and Carra might not have a chance to manage the club anytime soon.  Although they could be coaches or have some role.

Of the two though, I don't really know who would make a better manager.
Carra is obviously a bit louder than Stevie.  But Kenny and Rafa were both quiet enough humble guys and they did ok.

In a lot of ways though, management is not really worth getting into anymore.

Always wary of players going into management - especially the top players. The success rate of the top players becoming top managers is very small - especially in this country. Gerrard I think could be just like Robson - top player but just doesn't have the tactical know how to manage - where as I think Carra does - just have to read their Auto Bios and the DVD about Gerrard to see the difference between the two in terms of how they studying the game. For me it's more about the tactics as opposed to the character.

Like Bob Paisley ?

Must admit I too have wondered if Gerrard would in future make a decent manager for us and saw Carragher as perhaps a better candidate.

I think Gerrard would make a good boss, but he'd had to start as a player coach first. Perhaps he'll get that sort of deal next year?
