Long live the King.  :buttrock

Is anyone slightly worried that when Carroll comes back we may resort to hoofing the ball forward too much?

Some of the football last night was a delight.

Carragher's time at Liverpool has coincided with a period of dominance for Manchester United, who as good as wrapped up a record 19th league title with victory over Chelsea on Sunday.
Asked how he felt at seeing their celebrations, Dalglish responded: "Anyone who wins the title is normally the best team in the league. I don't think Manchester United are any different to that because they've got the most points. Although they might be our rivals and competitors it doesn't mean you disrespect them and we'd always have respect for what they've achieved and it's the same with anyone who wins the title. If they do win it then we'll offer our congratulations."

Class again
It will kill them if we play it down and congratulate them. They want us to be seething.
Fu'ck them...

the fact is and I will type this fact in bold because it's the biggest most important fact in the whole fuking saga of LFC/ManU titles...

IF KENNY HAD REMAINED IN CHARGE MAN UTD WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN NEAR US.

It took Kenny to leave the club for Fergie to start looking towards his dominance of the 90's. Had Kenny stayed on as boss we wouldn't even be having this conversation.

I have to say to you all how shocked I am at the transformation that Kenny has driven over these last few months. I missed most of the game last night and switched on to catch the last 15 mins. As usual, I found myself looking out of one eye and wincing as I checked the score, only to be shocked and elated at the scoreline. It for me highlighted what has become the norm for sooo long and that is not knowing whether we are blowing hot or cold from game to game. When I started watching Liverpool, we were white hot almost always. I never questioned that we would be winning, of course we would, we always did. That belief was throughout the club and we clearly had it in buckets again last night. What an absolute pleasure to watch and what a joy it is to see a team 20 years on playing like the one I fell in love with all those years ago. No knot in my stomach, no nervous nail biting and no clock watching hoping that we'll scrape home unscathed, just pure entertainment and me willing them on to score 6, 7 and 8.

I was on the fence about Kenny as I was concerned that he might damage his reputation if I am honest and I didn't think that the club wanted to play, but boy am I happy that I didn't have to be worried. It stuns me that one or 2 people can make such a difference to a group of professionals (let's not forget that) and perhaps the biggest negative influence was our striker who didn't want to play and was disrupting everything and everyone. Not many people would have had the courage to not just let him go, but unceremoniously boot him out, but well done that man.

This is like a 2nd honeymoon at the moment and I hope it continues for some time yet. At least long enough for the blood of the club to firmly start flowing red again and the old ways to become todays' ways as well.

My only concern and I am not being morbid. High pressure game this and Kenny is not getting any younger. I am keen to see who will be taken in as the successor and the rightful heir to this thrown, cos someone needs to keep the torch lit. For this to be the last time that Liverpool play this way would be unthinkable. We've been starved for so many years of it, I never want to see it go away again.

Utd have the same problem, how do you replace a legend (and Fergie is for them). You can't, but they can't roll on forever and we need to see that happening now so we aren't caught out.

My word, what a difference 3 months makes, let alone a year.

Liverpool fan since I was 3 and till I die.

I've heard that the delay of signing a contract is due to a conflict between commolli and kenny in terms of who identfies and signs players for the club in the future and also the length of the contract. Apparently Kenny will be offered two years but wants three.

I really hope thats not true.  Last thing we need is fighting going on.  Kenny and Comolli should work together with Kenny having the final say... since its him managing the team.

As for the length of the contract, they should give Kenny 3 years if he wants it.  He is the man that saved there 300M investment from relegation/mediocrity.

I trust Kenny and I trust the owners. Between them and Ayres, they'll find a solution. Think positive guys, we're on the verge of something big here and its more important to get it right at this stage them a botched agreement then rue the decision in 2 years time.
