More importantly it is what the majority of diehard support want. We don't want to lose our captain.
He has bailed us out of numerous games where we were staring defeat in the eyes. Ok he disappointed us by nearly leaving for Chelsea, but unlike Torres he didn't go, he made a u-turn and stayed.
His performances clearly are under-par and out of sorts but this is clearly driven by injury and subsequent lack of fitness. Not due to lack of talent.
Also it is worth pointing out that his material value is nothing compared to his value 3 seasons ago, we would struggle to get £20m for him, more like £10-15m. Sorry but even an unfit and injury prone Gerrard is worth more than £20m to us.
It amazes me the reaction of some against Torres and his disloyalty yet some here are willing to get rid of Gerrard because he is having an off season. Talk about hypocritical, loyalty runs both ways.

Im loyal to the club and want whats best for Liverpool fc, i want him to stay until he retires but i feel wed be better cashing in on him. Its not just one season its nearly 2 (i dont do kneejerk reactions) that hes been on the downslide and how can people defend him by bring up injurys? Oh well thats ok he cant give 100% because hes never fit. Thats one of the problems and like i said hes 32 in the summer so hes gonna keep getting injuried until he retires. Every dog has hes day it doesnt mean coming to terms with this is being disloyal. Wed get far more then 20 million for him simple because hes a living legend worldwide and he could sell bucketloads of shirts wherever he went. Plus thiers the wages it would release for other players coming in.

from your reasoning it means that we should sell all of our first team because all have beenfor the past 2 seasons
