RYAN BABEL to join Hoffenheim

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Hahahaha... the guys an idiot... Did well today i thought... Looked more dangerous in 20 or so mins than Torres did the entire game.. With our problems upfront we could really do with that X-factor he brings to our play... The explosiveness we miss from Torres is something that Babel has shown to be capable of when he's bothered... Hopefully Kenny gives him the chance to prove his worth until the end of the season...

One of him and Jovanovic should start every game imo... Atm i'd give Babel the nod

???

Name one player in our side who runs with the ball or has any sort of confidence to take players on ?

Babel, Jovanovic, and Torres are the only 3 in the side who have the pace to dribble and take people on in the final third.. So often we're too slow in our transition from defense to attack and imo thats one of the main reasons why we've struggled this season.. We arent direct enough and we attempt to be we have to resort to long balls when we dont really have the players to make that work...

As much as I find Babel frustrating, he gives us that directness we need at time... Jovanovic despite his lack of final product would also help in carrying the ball to more dangerous areas and stretching fullbacks...

To be perfectly honest im sick of 2 things:

1) Torres having to go wide to get the ball because our wingers can never get behind fullbacks or to get away from a compact back4 up his a$s
2) long balls being played to Torres with no one with a bit of pace even attempting to get the knock downs either through the middle or down the flanks...

We've missed the likes of Pennant and Riera down the flanks especially with our lack of a creative midfielder in the last couple of years..

Posting a picture of United's new centre mid ....How old is he exactly .....  ? :(
the Lad needs to seriously grow up ......it would suit all sides if we got shut pronto ,and to think I was going to give the Lad some credit for his display ,but yet again the unbelievable immaturity he consistently shows proves my opinion on his much improved performance would have been a touch premature ...

Number 1 priority in the transfer window is to sell him and use the money to bring in a striker. I think he only has 18 months left on his contract so we should get shot.

Ryan Babel has apologised for comments he made about referee Howard Webb in the aftermath of Liverpool's FA Cup exit to Manchester United. The Holland international used his Twitter account to post a mocked-up picture of Webb wearing a United shirt, after the World Cup official awarded the home side a first-minute penalty and sent off Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard. The Football Association confirmed that they would be looking into the matter, as Babel also wrote: "And they call him one of the best referees? That's a joke. SMH." SMH is an abbreviation for "shaking my head" but the 24-year-old has since added: "My apology if they take my posted pic seriously. This is just an emotional reaction after losing an important game. "Sorry Howard Webb." Last January, Babel criticised former Reds manager Rafael Benitez on the social networking site, and he is not the first Liverpool player to court online controversy this weekend.

I thought what he did was funny but its not the most clever of things to do. The fact that I'm not bothered it's Babel probably says it all, I'm not too bothered what punishment would come his way in all honesty

I thought he looked decent when he came on, obviously trying to impress his new manager with a clean slate. He looked committed to the cause today to his credit and if he can keep doing that week in week out then he might just develop into the player he's capable of
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

He did well because KK let him played in the right position .... He got 5 months to prove that he is a good player .

BTW about his comments about referee Howard Webb in the aftermath of Liverpool's FA Cup exit to Manchester United, that normal , it's just like "expression of anger" ... but who doesn't ...

oh come on, RBG mate. don't be getting all self righteous about it. its the kind of thing any number of posters would post on here and would raise a few chuckles. i know he should be a bit more restrained considering his position, but this is ryan babel we're talking about.

I think some need to get real when it comest Faceook at twit and places like that.
what he did was a bit silly but i bet he was not the one to edit the photo...that would be too hard for him to do pmsl.

If that is ferdinand then that is something not only the fa should look into but also our club and our fans.
after having a lookup it dont seem that it is his but you never know.

I dont think you should stop players from using the sites but they might need to beasked to think about what they are posting and hwit mit look in the press in the morning.

Webb in a Man U top.......pmsl well done.  :D

??? Why should the FA look into our club and our fans over ferdinands Twitter?

It was FC Uniteds goalie who posted it, Ferdinand and Co have sang Murderers on a night out, live on telly when they won the CL, and live on the radio what do you mean by our fans?
