Now if the vast majority of that debt isn't there ,the profit can either be plowed back into the team or into the owners back pocket . Makes things look alot healthier in that respect.

yer only 37 mil left, thats about the norm for a big company.

yes we could clear that debt in a year.......aslong as we give up the idea of a new ground.

the only way the new ground will be built is with a loan.........dont sound good to me mate, what do you think?

The stadium will be built using loans or the redevelopment will be done with loans - but those loans will not go onto the club - they will be leveraged with future earnings - the same way the arsenal did it .

As for the courts - if you listened to Broughton it will be all done and dusted by the weekend - Hicks and Gillette relinquished their power when they brought in Broughton and they have to prove that Broughton and the other members of the board have acted in a way which isnt good for the club - they have even signed contracts to that effect - they cant stop it because they dont get any profit - they can try but no judge will rule in their favour . RBS, Barcap , the board , the prem will all favour the deal - they are trying to argue that they are undervalue it but they have to prove that the club is worth the 600 million they want and they cant - they cant prove the value of the club has doubled in 3 years . Its why they tried to sack Ayres and Purslow but he couldnt - this is last throw of the dice from a desperate man which will fail . He needs the profit to pay off other debt but its not going to happen . He is outnumbered and corner and has no way of stopping .

yes but even the act of going to the courts puts a hold on the sale from  what i understand.

it will get get done in the end, i would not be shocked if Hicks also later trys to take the board to court of the sum of 100mil.

It will hold up the sale by a matter of days and he has no power anymore - he has been bitten by his own cleverness . Up sh.it creek without a paddle , he has no grounds to sue and no grounds to challenge it .

At the risk of me sounding like an old man, older than what I am, this is what modern football has done and what it will continue to do - p*ss all over tradition and legacy in favour of the green. Does my head in. Remember the 80's and very early 90's? Well, that was as far back as I can go, and to me that was a golden era of football where football was the only thing that mattered at the end of the day. You didn't get relegated because you were skint. You got relegated because you were sh*t. Look at us now. Who'd have thought it back then.

Why would you want Arab owners?  They own like half of England already.

Nothing to do with politics, race or religion ... but it seems that they are the one that got more money ...

The money over there is drying out and rather rapidly - they have blown billions trying to build big buildings etc .

Yes oil is "drying out and rather rapidly" ... but they do have business and investment elsewhere ...

Indeed they do...

Artificial islands in the Gulf

Indoor ski resorts in the desert

Refrigerated beaches

Massive money spent on desalinating water to use on golf courses, lawns, fountains etc.

Yep, can't see that going sour any time soon.  :Oo:  :D

Where do you expect them to get the money from, the tooth fairy? Of course its going to have to be borrowed.

They borrowed to pay for the redevelopment of their baseball stadium - nearly 300 million and its pretty much paid for itself in the end .

Borrow ? That's very clear they have no money ...

They have over a billion dollars as a sports company mate - the loans will be leveraged by themselves and against further ownings from the new stadium - it happens with everyone and how they build new stadium .

Simple fact is that you need money to win titles these days, Daws. That's how it is.

They are a group of 17 investors, whether they out their hands in their pockets or not is another matter.

And Reg twit & tw@tter are about to lose 140 million from the loan they lent us if RBS wins.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

So where do you expect 300 million to 'appear' from to pay for the stadium? Even if they had it, they'd still expect interest payments on it if they used their own money.

Abramovich is the only one who pumps money in interest free but thats unrealistic outside of Chelski where there is are business plans to meet.

The Red Sox arent a sugar daddy, I'll tell you that straight off.

Credit where credits due, We have all been on about Christian Purslow not doing anything and Broughton only being interested in Chelsea but they must of been cooking this up for ages waiting for the right time to strike and it would of been very calculated.

I think we have to hand it to them if they do pull it off.

Quite a few "rounders" fans on here. Cant see the appeal myself. I have never understood why they use different finger movements as code for some amazing tactic, you know what I think? Its sign language for "JUST THROW THE SODDING BALL !" :D

Business have falling over in the middle east - building work is stopping , the money is drying up and quickly - they have invested so much in trying to make it the best and biggest place in the world and make it the number one holiday destination in the world but it hasnt happened .

Roberto, in fairness I think most people had confidence Broughton was always going to do a good job. Purslow was tricky but Broughton is clean.

or................time was running out and they called them and begged them to buy us. and this seems more like the case if you go by what the city press think.
