Yes, there's definitely a commitment to invest in a stadium and we will finish up with a 60,000+ seater stadium. Where they haven't finalised their view is whether that should be the new stadium or whether there are still opportunities to build at Anfield itself. They have done both. The people involved have built the new stadium at Baltimore Orioles, for example, and at Fenway Park they looked at the two options and decided that actually redevelopment with all of the tradition was better than a new stadium. So they have done both, they are committed to looking at both very professionally and seeing which is the best option, but there will be stadium development.

Hang on!! What have they got to do with Baltimore Orioles because in that previous link (best and worst owners) Baltimore Orioles had the no 1 worst owners. Or is he on about the Architects??

There is a difference between making funds available for players and being able to compete with the top teams. I know he mentioned they don't want to be held to ransom so are not going to come out with comments like "we will buy the best" but I really hope in terms of transfers and wages we will be up there.

Hopefully on this news - cant judge him based on the two tw@ts - the guy is personally not buying the club - his sports company his so dont worry about finance . As long as he clears the debt fully , gives a bit of money for players and looks at redeveloping anfield - if we need to build a new stadium then loans will be used but that will be used against future earnings not against the club (just like Arsenal did ) . Its good news at the moment and fair play to the three guys , Broughton,Purslow and Ayres .

My guess is we will end up with a redevelopment of Anfield which would suit me. We knew Hicks would go out all guns blazing but if thats what we have to face so be it. No doubt hes livid about not making any money but more to the point I think its personal between him and Liverpool now and hes capable of anything even if its competely irrational.

Listen I'm also cautious but also happy that the end is in sight for H&G.

Both Broughton, Purslow and Ayre have impressed me with their professionalism. Broughton in fact deserves apologies from some on here. When they say the right owners have been found with the most important owner criteria being met it gives me a sense of optimism.

This is really good news. In one week Hicks and Gilette could be walking with feck all!
The new owner doesnt sound too rich but hopefully they can run the club well in the long term.
