If H&G  actually do get Ayre and Purslow off the board, they might get a new finance package from elsewhere before the 16th, so RBS would have no say. and hicks and gillet can stay the owners indefinately

Just wondering about the earlier rumors that Broughton might resign.

He was appointed by RBS. If he believes that the yanks are not acting in the interests of the club, they will most likely have the final say sooner rather than later.

All speculation for now, but hollywood might just make a movie out of this ! (hopefully with the yanks as villains :D )

Mike Jeffries, over to make the viral film, was on City today.

he said how he believes RBS will be unable to take the club off Hicks due to the fact that come the October deadline Hicks will file a litigation suit against RBS.

Hicks will spend £millions on hiring a sh!t hot legal team to simply drag RBS through the courts knowing that they will eventually lose but it buys him 12 months or so to find a buyer.

The money it costs him will be offset by not losing the club to the bank so he has nothing to lose.

RBS will have to fight in court to eventually get the club or the money back and it will cost them £millions.

Meanwhile LFc will be in total limbo financially and will just lurch along from day to day not knowing where it will all end.

He said in the States Litigation is everywhere whereas over here it isnt and hasnt been mentioned - he said he thinks this is very likely to happen so even if we go into administration if will still take 12 months to sort out
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

So do people on here who have kept calling Purslow and Ayre for everything still believe they are working "for" the yanks.. or was that just nore hopeless rumour mongering and hearsay?

There are very few times in a lifetime of watching Liverpool Football Club when the results are secondary.............this is one such time.

As a fanbase we need to mobilise and unite for one common purpose, namely to effect the removal of the current owners. Whatever it takes we must unite toward this common goal and rid the club of these despicable people.

I am a season ticket holder and cannot think of a single reason other then this why I would boycott a game. It would send out a defiant and crystal clear message to Hicks and Gilet that there is no pot of gold for them to plunder. Ok my seasie money is already in their pockets but the loss of match day revenue from merchandise sales, programmes, golden goal, betting, catering etc..... would provide a tangible reason for the Yanks to cut and run.

Walk on ................

I would rather see us go into the championship and become a worthless club just so they wouldn't be able to make any money out of us.

I'm so f*cking scared at the moment

europian-kings wrote:Liverpool Football Club tonight issued the following press statement:

The Board of Directors have received two excellent financial offers to buy the Club that would repay all its long-term debt. A Board meeting was called today to review these bids and approve a sale. Shortly prior to the meeting, the owners - Tom Hicks and George Gillett - sought to remove Managing Director Christian Purslow and Commercial Director Ian Ayre from the Board, seeking to replace them with Mack Hicks and Lori Kay McCutheon.

This matter is now subject to legal review and a further announcement will be made in due course.

Meanwhile Martin Broughton, Christian Purslow and Ian Ayre continue to explore every possible route to achieving a sale of the Club at the earliest opportunity.

Well, I know whose side I'm on and it isn't the two board members who are trying to remove two other board members for doing what's in the best interests of the club; approving a bid that would see our long-term debt paid off. There's a reason they've gone public and it's make it clear to us that Gillett and Hicks, not themselves - Purslow, Broughton, Ayre - who are trying to screw the club over by thwarting their attempts to sell the club. Lay off of those three ffs because they're the ones trying to find a solution that's in the best interests of the club, and it's just come straight from the horses fecking mouth!

Interesting quote from Oliver Kay on Twitter - "That bold #LFC statement has just (belatedly) been circulated by Broughton's favoured PR company. Maybe blue isn't the colour after all"
