MANCHESTER UNITED VS LIVERPOOL - Sunday, september 19th.

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby parchpea » Sun Sep 19, 2010 4:53 pm

The tables a farce at this stage and in the long run we will finish higher than 7th no problem at all. Furthermore I beleive we will beat Utd at home and gain suitable revenge for today. We have played 5 games, and 3 against the better outfits in the division with a new staff and several new players. Long run this side will be fine no problem at all so no need to start kicking off at this point.

A so called small team with bigger ambition in their mentality, whereas today we were a big team with small time ambition when it looked as if we grabbed a lucky draw.

thats not really a fair comparison ER because they were at home, we were away and their was no way Utd could have countered that attack because the game was well into injury time. The difference in the two sides out on the field today though was that at 2-2 and 5mins left Utd threw 8 MEN forward for their attack, I cant see us ever doing that against a "big" side even at home drawing 2-2 with 5mins left. Attacking mentality at the top level gets you far in the modern game, Roy needs to realize this.

I'll tell you what.. give it 12 games... come back to me and then tell me if their is no improvement... if there isn't then fair enough

You're doing the same thing too, eh!

I'm looking at them and I'm thinking that if they were a car, they'd be a finely tuned Aston Martin or something as stylish and well made, and I look at us, and we look like a broken down, second hand Scoda bought in an Autotrader.

Why do you keep bringing Rafa and last season up? Serious question, people tell us to move on and get over it, but these same people are the ones that constantly bring Rafa up.

Inter won today and Rafa is currently sitting joint top of the league.

Where as we are 16th with our breath of fresh air.

CIGGY, I'm not worried about the amount of points on the Board at this stage like you mate. What I am worried about is the "manner of play, and they way we have dropped points.
Not creating any chances, leaving Torres stranded up front with nothing to go on is really poor.

I dont think we warranted 2-2 scoreline at 65 mins. overall, play, control of the ball and determination was only 3/10 for the whole team.

when we lost 2-1 at old trafford last time, we played a hell of a lot better than that!

I would have give the Job to Dalglish. I'm worried about where we will end up come next may.

Home, away, doesn't change the fact that they were pushing even at 3-1 down and 1-0 up. They sensed blood and they went for it when United were rocking. We never did that.

I always like players with a football brain and RAUL MEIRELES  defo has one you can always tell with players like him, I personally think he is more like Alonso than Masha from what I've seen of him. I know we are doing sh!te at the mo but I have a feeling things will pick up so chins up and just give some of these players and manager time to bed in.

:nod

He's no bitter Nan. The difference is. the Bitters play with balls and passion - we don't. And we're supposedly "better" than them. We don't have a 'right' to win at OT - it has to be earned on the pitch.

I agree with Emerald, at least he remembers the shanks days of passion, and souness, toshack, jimmy case, etc when we took the game by the scruff of the neck, not lie down and die!

first half was so embarrassing watching.

Some posters should I feel be judged on IQ, age and Football knowledge before we can take them seriously in these forums.

Boo Hoo!

Agreed with this.

what happened to the best fans in the world really

FFS. Some of you fans as loyal as you are, live in some fantasy dream land.

You obviously dont watch mutch football.

This is exactly what happens when you don't employ a top manager.

Roy Hodgson DOES NOT KNOW how to win a prem title, has not managed successfully any club (he took Inter out of Europe). and this is what happens when you take risks.

He will just "hit and hope" with tactics and selections all season, and hope for the best!

Mate! it doesn't matter if he isn't a top manager or not! This is not we are trying to say!

Look matey, if he ends up with a title and a few silverware no one will complain, if he doesn't, then fair enough off you go, you tried your best but not enough. All I'm saying give the gaffer a f*cking chance for crying out loud! I respect people's opinion on saying he isn't good enough for the club. I respect all of the poster's opinion on that front, fair enough, they maybe right... it can be either way really. What I'm fed up is that many fans are jumping into Roy's bandwagon every time we draw or lose a game!! we only played 5 games and Roy has been here for 3 months! Judge a manager by the end of the season not 5 games through!!!

9,000 posts metal head, and im not going to criticise you or denounce you. fair enough.

Ok give Roy his chance.

Maybe next season we can employ the "chuckle brothers" and give them a 2 year deal and a chance also.

Do you get my point?

The best fans in the world mantra was gone when fans harrased Rafa out, so far they, are very loudly supporting Roy and urging us all to remember the "Liverpool Way", which they felt no need to apply to Rafa whatsoever.
Cant have it both ways.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Kenny Dalglish 1/2/2011

People harp back to last season because we are in the same situation right now but most on here are showing different attitude than the last one and its bloody embarrassing to be honest. I'm telling ya most last season were saying '' the season is 38 games'' now we are seeing '' negative tactics, worst ever performance (I've seen worse!), I can't watch my team like that''... The SAME people who did not even say that kind of things before!!!!! whats wrong now?!?!?!? jeez

Because the manager was sacked for that, and in his place we were promised a 'breath of fresh air' and a 'new beginning'; yet all folks like u do is tell us about last season.

We are supposed to be improving on last season not mirroing it!

F8ck me

5 games through.. bloody hell.. you see what I'm talking about...

We needed a change, and change we got, now give it a chance to work!

I want Hodgson to succedd, like ALL Liverpool fans. So the question is not about 'giving it a chance'.

but rather- WHERE IS THE BEEF?

I need to see evidence of something 1st, b/4 giving it a chance to work. The commentator said, 'Liverpool have a lot of possession, but there is no rhyme or rythym to it!
Floyd stepped left and threw the hook that caught Hatton flush under the chin. Finally, the British champ had arrived in that mythical place of which his fans speak: Hatton Wonderland.
