Agreed with this.

what happened to the best fans in the world really

The best fans in the world mantra was gone when fans harrased Rafa out, so far they, are very loudly supporting Roy and urging us all to remember the "Liverpool Way", which they felt no need to apply to Rafa whatsoever.
Cant have it both ways.

Was going to point that out, but couldn't be arsed to.

Another thing, those that were disgusted with Rafa getting the jing openly stated before Roy's name was tipped to be our next manager that we didn't want him anywhere near the job simply because it was of our opinion that he just wasn't up to it. We knew the kind of football that would result in his appointment. Well, folks, you reap what you sow! HIGH FIVE! That one was for you, Mick!

What people seem to be missing is that this was a distinctly average United team who profited greatly from our new found ability to concede from crosses at an alarming regularity 2 defensive lapses 2 goals .... with Cole ,Gerrard ,Meireles,and Torres played in the right formation we could have taken 3 points ... Konchesky was abysmal no glossing over that ...totally destroyed by  Portuguese show pony no.2
Meireles was out of touch and off the pace in the first half but gradually he began to grow into his new role and was becoming totally involved in the play until his substitution by the manager  which was mind bogglingly ridiculous ....... its seriously hard to collate any plus points from that performance, albeit from the Second half showing of Poulson who was head and shoulders the best player on that pitch simply based on his rejuvenation after the interval  who at times looked Hamann like  ....all in all  it makes the managers decision after clawing it back to 2-2 to sit back and collect a point a baffling one to say the least ...... You got this one wrong Roy in the same respect you got the City game wrong.... bad tactics strange decisions ...starting to feel decidedly sorry for Torres Gerrard and Reina our three remaining World Class players they deserve considerably better than this .................

Hodgson is 5 league games in trying to fix the mess left behind following last years disastrous campaign. Today was dissapointing but we lost at Old Trafford and not pumped on our pitch by Reading. Fond memories from the previous regime indeed.

Sorry Red lad do not agree with the Poulson best player on the pitch second half bit, No chance unless your eyes went funny for a bit and you mistook him for Stevie, He was shocking for me , yes he made one or two little block challenges ,but thats all , Look at there thrird goal it started with Poulson not closing down quick enough for the ball to be put out wide for that cross to come in, I dont rate him mate i honestly dont and he needs to step up his movement big time and not let oppo players just glide by, also Johnson feckin hell needs to seriously have a word with himself, sort your private life out quick Johnno lad and get back to being a footballer . hes a patch on last season,

They just showed a few little highlights of Berbatov and there was one player who was comfortably passed by players in each little highlight - poulsen .

Great work from Konchesky at the first goal - he hid behind Pepe ffs

Maybe it shows how bad the rest of the team were Nan ,for me out of a truly awful away performance Poulson's second half was the only plus I could muster girl ...I think we agree the team on the whole  were awful though Nan and in my defence I was watching on holiday from a Miami bar  :D
as for Johnson Girl never rated him as a defender and I doubt I ever will

Some on here are very quick to jump down the throat of the manager and even call for his head already. We have a had our worst start to a season in a long time but we have also had a terribly hard opening set of fixtures. The only "given 3 points" that any fan would have expected out of the opening 5 games would have been West Brom at home and thats the way it has turned out.

I though today at times we looked good. In the first half the stats showed we had more possession although we didn't create much, but in fairness neither did United. What some on here seem to be forgetting is that we weren't playing Blackpool away today. It was Man United. In Old Trafford. We have no right to go there and get 3 points. We done well to come back from 2 down and I know a lot are saying after that we sat back but was that Roys fault? Didn't he switch to 4-4-2? Didn't he bring Jovanivic an attacking player on? Could it be said that perhaps the players sat back in the last 10 mins under heaving United pressure?

IMO a lot can be taken from todays performance. This team will come good when they get use to each other and Roy. Its a new regime and its going to take time to settle in, look at Mourinhio at Real Madrid at the moment and Rafa at Inter. It will take time but it WILL happen. I am very confident on that. This was only Coles second League game for us, it was Miereles first league start for us and it was only Koncheskys second game. A run of results and a bit of confidence in the team and we will make the top 4.

Who has called for his head ? You can't compare Inter and Madrid and Maureen and Rafa to us - both Maureen and rafa have gone to new leagues that they don't know yet but despite this their respective teams are still managing to win and more importantly creating chances . We aren't creating anything worthwhile in the games , Hodgson seems to have them set up too deep and too defensively at present and we for the majority of times are not creating enough pressure on the opposition - hodgson knows the prem it's not alien to him . We showed a bit of fighting spirit after the mancs gifted us he first goal and then adrenaline got us the second and after that we just slowed down and took of our best player or at least one of our best players and looked to take the point .

I am not saying Poulson is better than Lucas in any respect,I am simply saying today he had a good second half ... I after all have never disguised how highly I rate lucas

???

Your optimism is truly inspiring Dundalk.

I wish I could share the love......but I fear not.

It's a mark of where we are going to be at the end of the season that regardless WHO we play in the first 5 games of the season, we should expect to be a "tad" higher than 16th place at this stage. Conceding 6 goals in Manchester already this season ? What is it about that hole of a city eh ? What's the reason for the gonads crawling back UP as soon as the lads go there ?

Only had a quick scan of the posts and will rad the last few pages a bit later (after me tea!) but the truth is all you anti's (ex) and Pros (ex) make virtually EVERY thread (curresnt) pointless and that pretty much pointless sums it up.

Some bad some good today.

It was excellent to see Stevie put away 2 goals, but we were absolutely awful today, particularly in the first half. Same with our game vs. Steaua on Thursday. The good news is that we still have a number of quality players in our squad...but the future looks bleak for this club.

Firstly i think Torres will get much better and score alot of goals this season (if he stays past January that is!), i just think hes a player who needs ages to recover from his injuries. Sure he looks unhappy but who wouldn't when you've lost 2 against the Mancs, drawn against Arsenal and Brum and barely scraped a victory against West Brom...saying that i think West Brom are better than alot of people think. This league is tough!

So we have 3 of the big teams played now, but it seems that every game is hard for us these days because we're no longer a force to be reckoned with in the league. I think its going to take Hodgson a long time to sort this mess out. After a difficult opening fixture list we SHOULD do better in the next games. Just don't forget - we are not a force in the league anymore, we have to accept that and work towards becoming a force. Here's the next few fixtures and my predictions.

(Carling Cup)(H) Northampton -> Win
(League)(H) Sunderland -> Draw
(Europa League)(A) Utrecht -> Draw
(League)(H) Blackpool -> Win
(League)(A) Everton -> Draw

Call me pessimistic but i'm just giving an honest opinion.

I won't argue... All I know I'm going to be patient with Roy as I did with his predecessor. I think alot of the comments on here are OTT and need be patient. I know all of you want whats best for the club but need to be patient that is all.

Oh.. and I agree with RBG, Poulsen had a fantastic second half.
