ok, got ya. he's never a support, or second striker, in a million years. if he's ever going to make something of himself its going to have to be as an out and out centre forward.

i say just use him as a striker

he could be like cisse at worst

he has a bit more composure at times with finishing that cisse too

He is the strangest player I have ever seen at Liverpool. An international striker who, for years has been content to sit on the bench or in the stands (or at home), getting the occassional run out, sometimes scoring, most time not.
There must be many clubs who would play him consistently. What goes on in his head to accept his role (or lack of it) within the club?
Weird...

The first season we signed Babel I really did think he was going to be a special player. There was people saying he was going to be the new John Barnes and he showed a lot of promise in his first season. Didn't Rafa and Pako fall out over Babel? If I remember correctly they did it was either because Pako didn't like the fact Babel was going to be used out wide or the fact that Pako didn't rate Babel in the first place.

Really?
He couldnt get similar money somewhere else and the guarantee of first team football?
Its got to be something else. I think its totally embarrassing and cant believe he is not ashamed of himself.
What does he say when he meets someone: "I sit on the bench for LFC. The managers dont think Im good enough to play but I get sh'it loads of money for doing fu'ck all"?
What type of person is happy with that?
Baffling

cause at least babel can play a few positions (albiet badly)

I'd have snapped their bloody hand off. Gutted this didn't go through and we've failed to sign another striker.

Babelcopter...I like that  :D
He's gonna be great after his little training regime trip...

What's keeping him? Probably the fact that he will have more time to play in the studio, recording a verse over 15 times to get it right :D

I'm liking the Babelcoptor as well... were can I get one of those?

Babel has a lot to live up to at the moment.  the fact that many LFC fans wanted him to go for another player who really isn't all that talented as is, says a lot.  He better know that if he doesn't really pick it up and prove he's worth it, than he's gone in January or next summer.  To a worse team as well and a good chance he will never play on a really good team ever again.

We didn't win anything after Pako left :(

Echo headline tonight - 'Ryan Babel tells Roy Hodgson he can be forward solution for LFC'

I dont understand why after what, 3 years with the club, he and the training staff still dont seem to know what his role is.

He's an odd bugger, he seems very immature.

Babel just wants to impress- any player in his position would.  He's willing to play anywhere even though he's a winger that's supposed to be good at attacking.  I don't know if it's a confidence thing or what, but he just doesn't seem to be improving.  In fact, he's slightly going the opposite way.

he should have played that position from day dot but for whatever reason he was always wasted wide... lets see what he can do
