Tom Hicks sold the baseball franchise Texas Rangers after it ran into debt problems. Sound familiar? Photograph: Fort Worth Star-Telegram/MCT /Landov/PA Images
Tom Hicks has kept his shareholding in Liverpool separate from his other sports assets in apparent fear of a collapse of the highly leveraged Premier League club. Digger has obtained a corporate flowchart detailing all of the sporting interests Hicks has held through his holding company, HSG Hicks Sports Group.

The chart was filed with a US court in bankruptcy proceedings against Texas Rangers, the Major League Baseball franchise that has now been sold by Hicks, in which the courts had invited Rangers' creditors to pursue other HSG assets.

That order could put at risk his stake in the Dallas Stars ice hockey team, as well as stakes in those organisations' associated real estate operations, which sat alongside the Texas Rangers in HSG. Yet, curiously, Liverpool's ultimate parent company, Kop Investment LLC, is not listed among them.

It is not known precisely how his Kop shareholding is structured since that company has never met its statutory requirement to file an annual return. But Liverpool's ring-fencing out of HSG cannot have been for tax or legal reasons: Kop is registered in Delaware, the tax-friendly location where other Hicks investments are held. A spokesman for Hicks did not return calls yesterday after Digger put it to him that the purpose of the separation was to prevent Liverpool's debts causing problems for other HSG assets. Despite their separation the dominoes have begun to fall.

I do find it strange that Kenny Huang is yet again talking to the press about buying the club yet when asked by our club to show how he is getting the funds to buy the club and with what backing he shuts up.

why dont he just come clean and tell them and show them the money??

lies and lies.

So because he is only 50% confident of securing the deal he's a liar. I've heard it all now.

Clearly he's a pint half full type of person, rather than the half empty pessimist like yourself Lakes.

And the worry is that sort of fine could be covered by a Mascherano sale...

Funnny in it how Sky Sports have changed there tune .For days they have been bigging up the Syrian and saying how its almost done , now this morning there all over the Kenny bid.
Surely they wernt that stupid not to realise that Kiradi was just a stalling tactic by them two, into trying to wait until the new TV money came through, You wouldnt of heard about the Syrian no more after that, same as last time as soon as they got there refinace off he dissapeard,

Then he said it needed him 2 Months to look over everything,
TV money and refinancing due, = joke . As i said he offers more than what Broughton is asking , Why = His mates arms up his back telling him to

I think both of the buyers are a joke, if they can not sort this out and fanny about doing it what chance have we got when it come to building a new ground.

the word in the city is that the Syrian is still about to buy the club yet the rest of the world thinks its the other guy.....i am starting to feel myself that at the end of it all  none of them will buy the club and it will be someone we have not heard of that has been sitting back (i have no word on this but just going by what mess it is right now).

I dont believe anything the media is saying.  I mean when this whole circus started they were saying the club would be sold by the end of the week.

I reckon every bit of news good and bad is made up now. Broughton did say at the beginning that we should ignore any speculation or stories as negotiatians would be private and nothing leaked and at this point I am beginning to beleive this is now the case.

I get the feeling someone is going to buy us for a song in October, why pay over the odds now and want all that debt? Think about it, the vultures will be circling and watching everything thats going on right now and will wait before they swoop, the problem with that is anyone could buy us, absoluty anyone  :sniffle
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

IMO - random unsubstantiated comments/article + NOTHING from the club = something is happening.  :D
