TAKEOVER COMPLETE - H & G Finally Jibbed!

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby boodiddy1 » Fri Aug 06, 2010 4:15 pm

As a scouser expat now living and working full time for the past 8 years in China in the heart of the commercial and manufacturing hub of the country in Guangdong province, there
are some things that the less informed 'back home' need to know about how the Chinese operate.

I don't believe for a second that they will be throwing vast amounts of money in our direction like ManCity or Chelsea have 'enjoyed'. On the contrary, although passionate about their business interests, they will run it efficiently and will expect to make decent profits form their investment.
Personally I'm happy with this approach. I want us to be the BEST for being the most successful both on the pitch and in the marketplace, not because we are somebody's 'toy' that he amuses himself with.

BUT....very importantly, the worse possible scenario for any Chinese is to 'loose face'! In a nutshell, they will definitely NOT want to be outshone by ANYBODY.....ManU, ManC, Chelsea, Arsenal......they will all be swept aside. Failure is NOT an option! This is the entire philosophy of their culture. To 'loose face' is the biggest humiliation they can suffer, and in the very public arena of the English Premier League that's good for Liverpool Football Club.

However, this culture also means that the only person who matters is THEM. Equally vacant from their culture is 'respect for others'. So if SOS thinks it is going to be able to scrutinise what they do....think again. They won't give a toss what you think!

...and without trying to get involved with a political debate (which is NOT the best thing to do here)....anyone who starts crying about human rights and the morals of Chinese ownership, they had better start looking around their house. If you are that concerned, you'd better start throwing out at least 80% of your possessions, because believe me, China is where they originate, whatever label they probably have on the front!

Nicked off rawk.

Quality post that Boodiddy.

I've seen threads derailed fairly often on Newkit, but these last few pages have been ridiculous. This a thread about the takeover of a football club. If people must debate the human rights records of China start another thread and stop ruining this one for everyone else. Interspersed with this debate there are images of people about to be murdered. Posting these images on a football forum, in a football thread is a disgrace. They should all be deleted. I really don't want to see them when I'm looking for updates on the clubs situation.

Wise the f'uck up.

That's a very good and insightful post as is the one before . The best line I like is the one alluding to making sure the yanks don't walk away with profit . All the soundings from the Chinese consortium are very encouraging to read . Let's hope words match actions

Lakes what you are saying is like me refusing to visiting South Central LA for fear of being robbed by some gangbanger. You can't assume the whole nation of China feels the same. To take that view would be slightly short sighted mate.

I am not saying that mate, as long as members and fans have their eyes open about what is going on there.

if they do take over and our games are shown live (that will never happen) it could be used by some to bring to light what is going on over there, dont forget they have no real news over there, most of them no nothing about the Tibet deaths that just happend....its not reported, the 1988 uprising did not happen to them as you can not even look it up on the web over there and if you tried you could get a vist and you are never seen again.

jesus wept....not only do you spout an inordinate amount of horsesh!t rumour and gossip....NOW you spout even more caca about chinese human rights abuse...

i think people like you should be neutered at birth....stop the rot in the human race 'n all that stuff....

I heard G & H wanted to try this approach but they were told the Thatcherite Dictatorship had been overthrown years ago........Cameronism hasn't gained full control as yet

I'm sorry but did you not read the report that Heung has put in a bid to buy the club - they want the club debt free , they want to build the stadium , they want to invest in the squad , they want to expand our commercial Market to the far east and they want to ensure the yanks make no profit from there investment of nil pounds .

Why are you sso against their bid ? Sounds great to me . What is your problem with them

This is all a lot of b0ll0cks. It's for governments to campaign for human rights issues, not for football fans to get involved in. Yes I've no doubt they do some dodgy sh!t, but feck me we're hardly whiter than white ourselves as a country. Absolutely totally fecking irrelevent if you ask me.

Fivecups agree and disagree.

The bidders are doing due diligence on LFC and Barcap are doing due diligence on the bidders.

Political risk is one of those aspects that cannot be avoided so yes, whilst it might be messing up this thread, the process of assessing the suitability of a potential owner will inevitably consider the issue that Lakesy raises.

You cant ignore Corporate Responsibility these days ESPECIALLY if you are bank who might RECOMMEND one party to be a suitable buyer, accepting responsibiliuty for that decision.

The problem is two fold
, one i dont think its the truth (sorry been burnt by G&H and getting my trust is going to be hard)

two. There is another bid that is very close to being done.

It takes a very special dictatorial attitude to execute young girls in public or before a football match. Do you really want to be associated in anyway with that sort of activity.

What if those young girls had commited murder or were major drug trafficers ? If they no the punishment no matter how harsh it is and they caught then have to suffer the consequences - I believe there is an area for captial punishment for certain crimes but thats a discussion for another thread .

Do we tar all chinese with the same brush ? Im pretty sure the guys looking to invest in us are pretty civilised .

nenny, pls pls read up on what happens in China, yes we are told they are done due to drugs, but that is a cover up and there is film to back all this up.
