How can you possibly make such an uneducated selection when by your own admission only yesterday you haven't got a clue what sovereign debt is?

Also a top four position should be within our grasp with or without a new owner.

With the investment a new buyer will offer, I woud expect a title challenge at least!

Blimey..

as soon as the world realises we have £150 million to spunk out you just watch all the top players will suddenly be shouting off about how they've always had a desire to play for LFC blah blah blah

Didn't wanna know when we had fuk all did they?

I'd stick with the team Roy has got. Add 2 more players and tell Eto'o, rohnaldino and all the other merceneries to go do one.

Thats my view an all there are gonna be fighting tooth an nail to walk away with something, I an see them not letting go very easy. And i said before i just cant see this being done anywere near before the transfer window closes, Its what 25 days now till it shuts, surely you have to have a period of due diligence, and also how longdoes that fit and proper owners thing take, the time scale is just to short imo for us to achcieve anything before transfer deadline  day, There would be nothing better and i wish so much that these two end up with sloping back to were they come from with empty pockets getting not one penny from us, that would mean more to me than us buying a new striker any day , That would be the icing on the cake for me, they came with nothing let them go home with nothing, I just pray now that whoever it is comes in is the right one,

I see Huang bid on behalf of the Chinese government ideal but a lot of reports I am seeing/hearing suggest that their bid is too low. As much as the decision making power is with the board, I am sure H&G have given a clear remit on the type of bid they are interested in.

I think your right on the money. Look what happened to Real Madrid and Man City last season and they spent close on £500m between them. Money does not guarantee success. It is very easy to accuse Chelsea of buying their success - I have many times - but they still have no Champions League title and I would question just how successful they have been with the money they spent. I honestly do not think we need to spend a fortune. We need a bit of luck with injuries, some quality man management and the right mental attitude.

can i point out once again that so far there is no  Chinese bid, the guy was only trying to by the debt in a bid to a stake in the club.
he was going via the backdoor and that might say a lot about what sort of owner he might be...MR Short cut. if he built the new ground he might make it of of lego or buy it in IKEA

At the end of the day South Coast the board has the power to out vote the yanks and go with the bid they see best for the club and not best for H&G . So even though Heung bid maybe too low for the parasites if he board think it's best for the club then the two parasites won't be able to do a thing to stop it . The two parasites want the most amount of profit to them qs opposed to the best bid for the club which is why they want the guy from Syria as he gives them profit . The two parasites thought by appointing Barcap it would give them the best chance to maximise their profit but it seems Broughton is going to go for the best deal for the club in order to keep his rep in tact . The two parasites are fighting like mad to get profit but it seems they may of shot themselves in the foot and could easily walk away with Fu.ck all which would be a fantastic result . I'm holding out hope that the Chinese group get the club - they have the backing and track record to be great for our club .

No one knows if they are now talking direct to broughton or not - I have a feeling they are now . As for the stadium just look at the stadia for the Olympics which they had a hand in developing and building - all outstanding structures that left and everlasting legacy .

As for buying the league - I don't think we would ever go down the road of city and try and buy everyone at big bucks - I feel Loy would supplement or current squad with a few solid players and maybe the odd top class player namely striker and midfielder .

Benny this so true. But, there is one thing that scares me. I really believe the board would go against broughton. How do we not know that Purslow hasnt been offered a sweetner from Hicks? Isnt Ayre also hicks man?

its just a fear i have. I really hope the Haung bid goes through. Its similar to DIC takeover, which would of been bebeficial to us.

We can see what hicks does. Look at today with the rangers. He's defaulted on so much. The man doesnt care.

Probably not the ONLY one Lakes, but I for one wouldn't be too fussed. Look, I know the Chinese human rights record is appalling, but I genuinely think you would struggle to find any nation anywhere on earth who is whiter than white. We've got American owners at the moment, and we used to have British owners, try telling the Iraqies that either of those countries human rights record are whiter than white. If you go for middle eastern owners, their treatment of people is disgraceful, and the same can be said of just about anywhere IMHO.

Show me the money

LIVERPOOL FC chairman Martin Broughton will today issue a “show us your money” demand to Syrian businessman Yahya Kirdi who claims he is on the verge of buying the club, the ECHO understands.

Mr Kirdi, who represents a group of investors from the Middle East and Canada, claimed a price had been agreed and a formal purchase agreement “is in the final stage of negotiation”.

The ECHO understands Mr Broughton and advisors Barclays Capital are trying to establish where the money for the deal would come from.

Mr Kirdi, like the other five bidders, is being asked to prove exactly who his backers are and how money is being raised.

Mr Broughton is keen any deal includes cash to pay off the club’s £237m debt to Royal Bank of Scotland, money for players and investment in a new stadium.

Today former Celtic player Andy Lynch, who is advising Mr Kirdi, said he hoped a deal would be done soon, possibly as “early next week”. He added it was not his place to go into the financial details of a deal but insisted Mr Kirdi, a former Syrian international, would be good for the club.

Kirdi announced: “The group is in advanced negotiations with Thomas Hicks and George Gillett, co-owners of Liverpool Football Club, to purchase 100% of the club. Agreement has been reached on all major terms including the purchase price, repayment of the existing bank debt from RBS and Wells Fargo and financing of a new stadium in Liverpool’s Stanley Park.”

Meanwhile Chinese businessman Kenny Huang issued a statement insisting he has not made a bid for LFC but was interested in doing so.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

You can think that and as much as Huang has not officially admitted as much. From what I read in the Times this morning, a substantial amount all sourced, it will be only a matter of time before a formal announcement is made.

Well that fact that the Syrian guy is so closely linked with Gillett irks me and that Rhone group would probably bring in more leveraged debt.

Plus going by that Times article this morning thy seem to be the best option for the club.

It's not directly the Chinese government lakes - read up on CIC - the Chinese governent don't control the CIC sovereign wealth - it's a strange arrangement but they leave the running off it up to hhe investors etc and don't directly get involved .

Yes Boo it's definatly a worry mate but i have a feeling that Broughton has a very large voice .
