I personally find it distasteful that it is the corporate fans (and I do use the word fans in a tongue in cheek sense ) who are being catered for and not the fans who are the life's blood of the club and have sustained it for countless years

untill last year i was using the corporate hospitality at our club a lot, i would say that only 10% corporate were liverpook fans, the rest were just there to get to meet the players and have a free meal and a free :censored:

up.

our club cut back on the amount of vip seats they were giving the corporate, i have even see fans moved out of their seats to make way for more corporate guests.

but i think them days are long gone.

i dont think the lads who had season tickets for years who have been moved , this season ill add will consider them long gone, its a crying shame

I know they cut back on the amount of free seats they were giving out. Our club made much bigger cuts to the free seats than the like of Man U the russians and Man City.

As i said, i have used it in the past so i am not going to knock it 100%

I think we all understand the need for corporate seating nowaday's . It's always always to the detriment of the ordinary match going fan though . The 3000 new seats found will be the ones they'v taken of the OSC's and from the developement association . Also the lads who havent renewed probably .

Exactly why we need a new stadium than can cater for real fans and gleen the profits from corporate hospitality but until that happens, the club must maximise its income potential to fund the team.
You may find it distasteful but its the real world, you want us to compete, to buy the best players but theres got to be some way of funding this, T&T aren't going to do it or build a new stadium and unless we get an owner like Citeh the club will have to get the money in the best way it can.

yes but dont forget that the clubs give away FREE seats, They gave some to Banks the other year and a Box. it cost us nothing, all cost come out of the club, they are the sort of vip stuff that should be cut right back, i dont have a big problem with the club making big money off the ricjh aslong as its not taking the seats from the every day fans

The whole stadium issue needs to be sorted, its the biggest thing thats been holding the club back, even before the yanks come along it was the one thing that needed sorting out.

i know this drum gets beat alot around here but whilst these two sit around waiting for a mug to come along and drip feed them cash we`ll carry on falling behind, we need them gone asap, lets also not forget that the stadium was the catalyst for the whole regeneration of that part of anfield. so where not the only one suffering for there greed.

Liverpool chairman Martin Broughton targets quick sale

Broughton with new Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson
Liverpool chairman Martin Broughton is hoping to sell the club by the end of the summer transfer window.

Broughton, hired by current owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett to oversee the sale process, said he expected bidding to begin in the middle of this month.

"There have been no offers at this stage," he admitted. "But we're hopeful a deal can be done by the end of the transfer season (on 31 August)."

During the press conference where Roy Hodgson was officially unveiled as Liverpool’s new manager, Chairman Martin Broughton made the following comment concerning the sale of the football club:
“We are looking to the middle of July-ish for the first round of bids but that’s not a final stage – that’s a first entry through. We’re hopeful – and I wouldn’t put it any stronger than that – that a deal can be done by the end of the transfer season. That was always from the outset a hope rather than necessarily an expectation, because these things can take time. We are on course, pretty well, with where we would have expected to be.”

Since this statement was issued it has all gone rather quiet on the current ownership saga. We are now at the end of July and according to Mr Broughton’s statement the first round of bidding should already have taken place.
Recently, Mr Broughton has spoken of the importance in finding the correct owner, one who is wealthy, can take the club forward and is dedicated to building a new stadium. This list of credentials is exactly what every Liverpool fan would want to hear but it does strike you as a ‘stalling’ comment.

Of course we need to ensure we select the correct owner and one that is good for the club but it would appease many Liverpool fans if Mr Broughton kept us all updated as to the progress of the sale a little more transparently than he has. As fans we don’t expect to be told the finer confidential details but it would be nice to hear the club say if the first round of bidding has taken place and if any suitable parties have been identified.

Previously we were constantly hearing newspaper rumours of interest from all over the Middle East with wealthy Sheikhs being linked left, right and centre. Now, even the newspapers have given up on publishing propaganda on the issue.

As a Liverpool fan I’m hoping the sales process is on track and progressing well behind closed doors. I have noticed that since Roy Hodgson has come in as manager our business dealings have been conducted in a more professional manner and the majority of deals have been kept private until the final stages. Joe Cole is a perfect example of this. One week the manager denies speaking to the player and the next he is pictured holding a Liverpool shirt having signed for the club.
Prior to the past few years it has always been the Liverpool way of conducting business quietly and privately and this also seems to be the preferred method of our new manager. Perhaps some of this has rubbed off on the Liverpool board and they are going about selecting a new owner privately and effectively and hopefully on track.

Too optimistic? Let’s hope not.
