Sad times. We ridicule our new manager by calling him "woy", apparently its funny, but only the childish ones get it.

The whole yossi thing though is down to the way he was treated by Rafa, and as we know he is holier than thou, and although yossi never gave a bad word against rafa but acted against his frustration rather than airing them publicly many pro rafa supporters acknowledge why yossi is leaving and would much rather ridicule the player rather than the reason he is leaving in the first place.

Ignorance is bliss.

Agree completely, if the 'Woy' thing continues I think I will stay away from here.

Benny going was Benitez's fault and nothing 'Roy' could have done about it as the deal was obviously agreed, the player was under-used last season.

The real worry is he was our only player with that ability to do something a bit different, in addition with not being involved in the world cup he would be pretty fresh too.

Sad to see Yossi go, I thought he was great little buy and certainly was value for money.

Only regret like Woolly is I would have preferred him to go abroad. Though he was underused last season with us, not sure that will get much better with Chelsea

And you think calling Roy 'Woy' is childish................................................. coming from someone who says they will "stay away" for that reason, sorry but there is the child(ish reaction)

You won't be missed if that's your simplistic attitude, it's a free country and forum and since 'Woy' is hardly offensive, and certainly not like calling him a di ckhead or useless tw at, I think you need to get over yourself or at the very least lighten up. To quit a forum over a single word is pretty tragic, to quit over calling the manager 'Woy' when some hurl abuse at others just for offering an opinion just makes that 'threat' even the more tragic. Don't let the door hit you on the Woy out

If it's meant to be funny, that isn't why I call him Woy. People didn't get why I called Barry, "Barny", but maybe it's just that children didn't get it - or perhaps people on here aren't as clever as they think they are. And by that I mean they have their oh so 'clever' put downs, like labelling people kids if they don't like something, but don't really know why people do that something.

All very irrelevant to the Benayoun departure, but hey ho, never expect mods to keep a topic on track without going to the opposite extreme ie do nothing or over-moderate which is in itself a contradiction in terms that they'll never appreciate or take heed of (moderation in moderation......................)

Benayoun was a better than average player, but not that fantastic that he is an absolute loss. He is 30, not a consistently high level performer, and might have been in some people's top five players but he isn't a player I'll lose sleep over losing. I mean for £5m he was a good signing, but we have to move on.

Hopefully he brought in some money that can be spent on a new player, or at least put towards one.

Why are people somewhat negative towards him? Well because he jumped ship, went to the champions but will he be as important to them as us?!? Probably not, I expect he'll sit on the bench and come on now and then, maybe just enough to get him a winners medal of some kind. Has he shown any loyalty? Has he done anything to warrant absolute immunity from criticism? 'Good riddance' may be an over-reaction, but then these days there is usually only black and white, few seem to see there is a view of "if he wants to go, let him. He's not that good, he will find that out at Chelsea. Where is the loyalty these days?" It's not as if he wasn't given games, aside from the usual "ever presents" of Reina, Carra, Kuyt, Lucas and Mascherano, only Gerrard and Insua (our only real LB option) made more appearances than his 30

I disagree and think youre trivialising something important. I have seen several on here using Hodgsons speech impediment to ridicule him and therefore undermine him and offend the likes of me in the process. If I came on here a few months ago and said "fat spanish waiter" I would have been warned and possibly banned.
Why? Rafa is fat and he is spanish. Two out of three aint bad.
Was it funny? Some people thought so.
Was it offensive and said to cause hurt or embarrassment? Definitely.
I would like our new manager to be supported and respected, no matter if hes third, fourth or twentieth choice to some. I believe you and the others who persist with the unfunny "joke" should stop and consider that there will be plenty of cu'nts out there who will be highlighting this point without us aiding and abetting and ultimately joining in with  them.
Whatever people think of him, he is now the manager of Liverpool Football Club, and those who claim to be supporters should treat him as such.

He was not under used atall when he didnt play it was cause he was injured anyway PT has spoken to Rafa.

paul_tomkins  Twitter:  Rafa is apparently quite shocked to discover that he's just sold Benayoun. He thought he was no longer manager, as of 4 weeks ago

A Liverpool spokesman said: "Yossi's departure was agreed between the player and Rafael Benitez a number of weeks ago. Everybody at Liverpool FC wishes him well for the future."

Rafa's been gone a month if he wanted to stay he could have stayed. The club have waited till we've got a new manager before announcing this

Good luck Benny.

He was a good solid player for us, never hid in a hole like some and always did his best.
