Benayoun - Rate him or not?

Already dismissed by Liverpool, a bit of fishing by Dinamo no doubt

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/l/liverpool/8483948.stm

Liverpool have dismissed claims that midfielder Yossi Benayoun will follow striker Andriy Voronin to Russian side Dinamo Moscow.

Dinamo sporting director Konstantin Sarsania had said a deal had been agreed for the 29-year-old Israeli international to join his club.

But Liverpool say Benayoun, who signed a new deal last summer to keep him at Anfield until 2013, is not leaving.

"The player is not for sale, it's as simple as that," said a club spokesman.

Yeah I heard the same thing. Tax in Russia means he'll make a good whack more than he does at present.

£7m though??? Double it!

happy to see he's not being sold for the moment anyway!!
he's a good squad player to have and seems pointless to let him go.
if were stuck for cash then start selling fringe players who imo havent had an impact or either just wont make it.
players like
spearing, plessis, darby, kelly and el zhar are knocking around the 1st team for a while now and dont seem to be making any headway at all.
yossi is a great professional and doesent mind not being a regular starter.

Yossi Benayoun tug of war: Dynamo Moscow insist the Liverpool star wants to move

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport....uGYWugC

Dynamo Moscow have not given up on signing Yossi Benayoun and insist the midfielder will try to force his exit from Liverpool.

The Reds responded to interest in one of Rafa Benitez's favourite players by declaring Benayoun not for sale on Wednesday.

But the Russians are undeterred and claim they have been given the go-ahead by the Israel captain to push on with a £7million bid to sign him.

We spoke to Benayoun on Wednesday,' said Dynamo sporting director Konstantin Sarsania. 'He said that his meeting with the Liverpool directors had been rescheduled for Thursday.

'The position of the football club, reflected on their official website, is known to us, but the footballer himself insists on the sale.'

Dynamo say they have already agreed terms with the 29-year-old, who saw a similar move to Spartak Moscow blocked last year.

But a Liverpool spokesman said on Wednesday: 'The player is not for sale, it's as simple as that.'

However, Sarsania insisted it was not the end of the matter.

'The negotiation process continues,' he said. 'Liverpool have not ruled out the transfer. We are still in touch with Benayoun’s agent and we still believe the transfer can happen.'

My favourite player outside of Gerrard, Torres and Reina.... I think he should play the Gerrard role and have Stevie back in CM but that's bye the bye... skillful, intelligent and gives us a different dimension.

It's quite annoying that he wants to leave, what, only money matters? Or he doesn't trust Rafa any more? Maybe got upset my bringing in Maxi who can definitely play in his positions? Who knows.. Still, if he wants to go, let him go, but for only a good price, not less than 10 m.

I wouldnt let him go.
We dont have enough creative players as it is, selling one of them at this stage would make no sense at all.

if he goes it will be very interesting to see if he lets us know the reasons behind the move.

I think Yossi is one of out best outfeild players and if he goes, it really would be another nail in the coffin of LFC 2010 season.  Who the hell is going to take opposiion players on if he goes?

Really depressed now?!?
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

The way he has been treated I wouldn't blame him.

He is creative... check
He has good technical ability.... check
He has a good footballign brain.... check
He is weak physically.... check
He can't run around like a headless chicken..... check
He doesn't say I love the club and kiss the badge every second...check

Recipe to being benched or dropped by Rafa... :(
