Received the season ticket renewal form today.........I ask all season ticket holders not to tick the boxes for automatic cup ticket scheme and at the same time I ask all day trippers and an others not to purchase any tickets for the cup games......vast areas of empty seats will send big messgaes..........I would also like to encourage people to boycott spending money in the souvenior shops...lets try and hit G & h in the pocket with what little contribution we can

SS I´ve just come back from Singapore mate and they´re all walking round in the Standard Chartered shirt, a shirt boycott in Liverpool is a drop in the ocean. Sorry to be negative but its reality.

Think it was still on tonight mate. They must have had 2... just got back from the gym and saw a bit of it before I flicked over to another channel but it was deffo on.

Anyone know what the latest is with this fans share thing? Was just saying on another forum I wouldn't hesitate to put my own money into the club but they need to sort out the wages in this country first. Otherwise a model like that will never world.

Interesting Panorama that. There's a lot of similarities with the 2 clubs:

US levergaged buyouts
Companies own US sports teams and have debts on them
Debts in other businesses
Expecting ridiculous amounts for the sale of the club
Fans blocking the owners entry to the stadium
Fans hoping to buy the club

The Glazer do seem heavily invested in US property and in big trouble.

How toothless are the FA/PL and the government though? F'uckin disgrace the lot of them. C'unts. All sitting on their :censored:

doing nothing as historic clubs are collapsing all over the place. The league is f'ucked with debt. Players wages are disgustingly high. And they can't even do anything to stop these sort of takeovers happening again. Disgrace.

I think our debts a lot higher watching that you know, we dont know what them b@stards are doing in the states just like the Glazers, did I get this right the Glazers are in over 1 billion debt and so are Man U so its 2 billion worth of debt?

REDS ANNOUNCE TICKET PRICE RISE

Liverpool today announced a 7% rise in season ticket prices but insisted the increase is solely due to inflation and the change in the VAT rate.

A seat in the Kop will cost fans £680 if they apply online and £732 in the main stand and the Reds insist that remains "extraordinarily competitive" compared to most of the top Premier League clubs.

The club said last year's prices were based on a 15% VAT rate which has now risen to 17.5%, while the retail price index is now running at 5.3%.

A Liverpool spokesman said: "Inflation and the VAT change are the reasons for the rise - in real terms there's no difference.

"Our season ticket prices remain extraordinarily competitive particularly compared with other clubs in the top half of the table."

The increase is unlikely to go down well with fans opposed to Liverpool's American co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett. Fans group Spirit of Shankly have said supporters will consider giving up season tickets to the games next season if Hicks and Gillett have failed to sell the club.

By comparison, Manchester United season ticket holders are currently paying up to £931 for a season.

How do they ever expect to pay that sort of money off? Even a few years ago when they won the league and European Cup they still didn't make a profit for that year. After winning both those?

One thing ill be glad for though. With all this debt it looks like they can't compete transfer wise for the very best any more so hopefully they won't be overtaking us any time soon...
