if he stays for 2 more seasons he'll win that league title he wants with Liverpool. We're on the up. New owners soon, new manager with a new outlook, a couple of new signings, ship out some of the dead wood,  get back to winning ways = within the enxt 2 seasons we'll win it.

If that's the case, I'm losing whatever morsel of respect I still had for SG. Truth be told, I thought he underachieved big-time this year and looked most of the time like he wasn't even ar$ed. And you can trawl thru my posts on this subject back over the year just gone....
If he's mouthing off to anyone who will lend him an ear that he wants to go to Madrid, then to hell with him - let him off. I'd be more inclined to lump responsibility on someone who has a point to prove or who wants to wear the shirt with pride...I'd even tell Aquaman that he now has a chance to prove just what we paid a bucket load of money for him for...

I honestly can't understand you.

What do you want from the bloke?

He's a human being, for the most part we revere him for his unparalleled feats of leadership and talent. He has one bad season, driven by a whole season of the team under performing, and you castigate him for it.

What you fail to mention is that very few players, if any, got near his overall level of performance last year. Even though you say he couldn't be "ar$ed".

Wouldn't and couldn't blame Gerrad for going atall . He's coming to the twighlight of his career and still wants to win things , no chance he's going to do that at LFC for the forseeable .

I actually agree with you on this one Igor. The lad owes us nothing.
And whoever comes in has a big job there's no doubt.
We will not be competing for the league anytime soon and he is at that stage in his career where its now or never.

I will be gutted though if he does decide to leave  :(

Gerrard is a legend for us. Always will be. At 30 years old he has stuck through this club in the worst of times. He turned down a move to chelsea who at the time were almost certain to win the premiership under Mourinho and they did. He has single handedly won us a hell of a lot of matches. Without his inspiration in the champions league in 2005 we would never have even made the semi's let alone win it.

This is a player who people will still remember in 40+ years time, amongst the worlds best ever players. For his standards, he deserves to have won a lot more. I cant blame him if he wants to leave now. Im pretty surprised that he's stayed for so long tbh.

I feel slightly ashamed when fellow liverpool fans say that they would turn their backs on Gerrard if he left to join Real Madrid after everything he's done for us.

A local lad, Liverpool through and through. The club captain. One who should lead from the front. Not dive a la Ronaldo when there's a blade of grass in his path. Not one who pouts when the ref doesn't give him his way.
In fact, the very one on the pitch who should have kicked seven shades of shyte out of the Degen's, Lucas's, Babel's, Riera's...and all the other underachievers privileged enough to wear that shirt.
That's what I expected from him. And he didn't deliver.

Bungle...

Every player pouts at the ref when a descision doesnt go his way. Every player dives. Its football, its became part of the game and people need to acccept that..

You say that Gerrard should lead from the front...? Has he not been doing that for the past 10 years? Did he not do that in games such as the fa cup final v west ham, istanbul and countless other occasions?

You dont know if Gerrard has ever given Degen/Lucas/Babel/Riera a boll0cking or not. You and all Liverpool supporters should know by now that Gerrard leads his team by actions a lot more than words. For me, a captain that scores 30 yard screamers, makes 40 odd yard passes, creates inspiration etc, speaks louder than any words.

Apparently, Gulliam Balague has major news on Gerrard and Torres from 7pm today on Talksport.

I know Marca (Spanish paper) were saying that Gerrard confirmed that he wants to leave LFC....I'll take this with a pinch of salt (for the time being).
