The RBS are increasingly frustrated at the process, and sources close to the deal are suggesting there is a chance they will offer the Americans an ultimatum of finding a buyer "within months", or they will pull the plug on the loans.

So presumably this ultimatum is going to come after the 12 months is up?

Don't worry nan. Once we lose Torres, Stevie and Masch the value ofthe club will go down anyway after all we won't be able to boast having so many world class players.

its always fooking Hicks isnt it, or it seems to be that way, we have all got to pull together on this one now, do not buy anything LFC related, if you still going to attend games then buy nothing once inside the ground, support local businesses instead.

over on Rawk there designing an alternative to the home shirt, buy that or one of the many t-shirts available.

these scumbags want nothing more than your money, the more you give them the longer they will stick around.

on the 4th of July when they celebrate there independents day we will march on Anfield and demand they give us ours, be there if you care.

Hicks and Gillett your children must be so proud of you.

One quick question for you - if he was so bad why the hell have inter snapped him straight up ?! At least it seems one owner knows a quality football manager when they see one unlike the pair of utter Fu.ckwits who claim to run our club . Get these f.ucking disgusting yank lowlife single cell parasites out of our club and quick before they destroy it further

I have a fair amount of sympathy for Raffa. He had his weaknesses but if it wasn't Parry not backing him to sign Simao, Milito and Alves it was the Americans not backing him at all.

If you're scouse you'd realise that we get the blame if we've done it or not. Live with it. It's over.

the thing is mate its not over in the view of the americans.
going by the ameican new forums (used for news feeds in american but open to others) they are very upset about it, Liverpool fans aare being called all sorts of names on them.

they dont see it as Anti G&H but only as anti  american.

some are planing a mass event to burn liverpool flags and shirts. (some might think its a good idea to burn the old shirt due to who got the money from them lol)

the thing is that the image of the club in america has been hurt by this event.

they are also using it for the usa v england game coming up, saying that all england fans are skin heads looking for fights, photos of the burning flag have been sent to the american players in hope it pushes them to beat us.

there is hope, as there are a few brits that use the sites and they are tryingto get the amricans to understand it was not about the usa but only G&H but they dont understand why two dick heads should change the liverpools fans views on the whole of the usa.

Give us a link.  ?

Surely its those who are giving the burning of a piece of cloth huge significance that have the small mind.

Hicks scuppers two 'perfect fit' offers for Liverpool

Published 23:00 07/06/10 By David Maddock

Tom Hicks has scuppered at least two 'perfect fit' offers for Liverpool, because of his unreasonable asking price.

Sources at Barclays Capital, who have been charged with selling the Anfield club, have revealed their private frustration at the American owner's unyielding stance in negotiations.

An insider revealed to the Mirror that they have found "exciting investors" they believe have the money and standing to buy the club and take them forward, despite the massive debts run up by Hicks and Gillett. One of the offers has come from the Middle East, and another is a consortium led by a prominent American businessman.

But, so far, the staggering valuation of almost £800million placed on Liverpool by their Texan owner has proved an insurmountable stumbling block, because potential buyers are refusing to be held to ransom.

A source working on the sale of the Merseyside club for BarCap revealed privately: "We have found more than one really good fit investors, who have the wealth not to worry about a few hundred million quid.

"But they will not be held to ransom, because they know the asking price is unreasonable, and they simply don't want to be taken for a ride, no matter how rich they are."

There is a growing fear amongst those close to the deal that Hicks' business empire has been suffering in the global economic crisis, and that is motivating his hard-line stance over a price.

But BarCap are losing patience with the valuation, even though they accept that the sales document put together by the club makes impressive reading.

A source for the investment firm suggested that the figures 'add up', even before a new stadium is being built, but that has persuaded Hicks to hold out for more money.

His partner, George Gillett, is willing to accept a more reasonable offer to enable him to get out of the club, and escape the angry campaign against them from disenchanted supporters.

Hicks though, remains the massive obstacle to the deal, and that could persuade the club's lenders the Royal Bank of Scotland, to step in and take action.

The RBS have given an undertaking to extend their current loan of £237million to the Americans for another 12 months.

But worried by reports from BarCap about the difficulty in finding the right price to tempt a buyer, the bank are considering making an ultimatum to Hicks and Gillett.

The RBS are increasingly frustrated at the process, and sources close to the deal are suggesting there is a chance they will offer the Americans an ultimatum of finding a buyer "within months", or they will pull the plug on the loans.

I though part of the reason Broughton come in was to put a stop to Hicks ruining deals with unrealistic demands?

Going slightly off tack here in this thread but just to say i agree with Neil.
Yes Rafa had a big contract and was clearly forced out so strictly speaking in football terms he was entitled to be compensated.
Now i say in football terms because in no other job could you royally feck it up and still be given your full contract to leave.
Apparantly according to alot of you guys he has the clubs interests first, he is the only person that cares about LFC in all of this mess.
Well he is walking into a new job today straight away (good luck to him by the way), but how does that mean he deserves 6 million from LFC ? For what exactly ?
Some of you hate the owners that much (which is only right) that you allow it IMHO to cloud your opinion over Rafa. Rafa was awful last season. He may go to inter and do well, but he was shocking for us.
There is no way that he deserved any money for me - unless he wasnt going to be working for a while. Fact is he will be picking up a salary from Inter very soon and has 6 million off us for feck all.
Houlliers was even worse, but to be honest - we were not in this financial mess at the time.
Yes i can see why you all would want the owners to have to shell out loads of money. But unless we are in the process of being sold wont that affect LFC ?

Its :censored: for Liverpool but then again.... they were C*nts to him.  He signed a long term contract.  They broke the stipulations of the contract.  Rafa lowered his own expectations but they wanted him out while never admitting that they failed to deliver their promises yet again.

After winning a champions league, FA Cup, Charity Shield, Super Cup and 2007 champions league finalists, these people tried to sack Rafa and replace him with Klinsmann.  (only for Tom to later admit that he'd never even heard of Klinsamann)

is it just a coincidence that the American's took over in 2007 and we havent played in a final since?   i think not..

I think Rafa deserved some compensation after putting up with :censored: like that for so long.

I'll be honest mate my thoughts and concerns are for LFC, i dont and never have supported Rafa FC.

Its so convenient to blame his failings solely on the owners.
Fact is he didnt do a good job in the last few seasons.
And his transfers in the last couple of seasons have been woeful and bizarre to say the least.

Sorry if i am slagging him off a bit when he has gone, but that's just how i feel.
