I hope the surprise is not us going into the season with only one recognised striker again  :D

I'm worried he's going to buy Pav off Spurs...

Would be a decent buy IMO if he does.

Goes without saying that, but N'gog's value has increased significantly and should ship for more than 1.5 million, that's for sure.

apparently it went fine. they agreed to swap houses for the summer holidays but rafa didn't much like the espresso.

The problem is that in order to build a new stadium, the debt has to be reduced or further financing will not be given (THE CLUB IS JUST NOT WORTH WHAT WE OWE). Obviously if we get mega rich new owners who decide to just pay off the debt and build a new stadium its problem solved. The more likely senario imo is that the new owners will reduce the debt down to an acceptable level, then borrow against the stadium build. e.g. initial loan to begin the build say £100million, increased loan on the back of the collateral of the initial build once development has reached an agreed point a further £100million etc etc. This is the usual case in self build homes etc and as far as I am aware in large scale builds as well.

I.E. The key is the reduction of the loan down to manageable levels.

While there is an argument that team improvements may be required to ensure CL football, I would not propose adding to the debt to achieve it. Sales of players and increases in profits in other areas (commercial and cups etc ) could supply some, but hopefully our owners old or new would provide any shortfall.

So priority should be given to paying down the debt, secondly to building a stadium, and finally to ensuring CL FOOTBALL. Hopefully all can be achieved with reasonable owners and good management.

All in my opinion anyway.

i'm sorry. it appears they are close to a deal. rafa wants complete control of the club and to rename the ground 'the rafa benitez stadium'. he's going to take lucas, kuyt, insua and ngog with him and in return we've promised to double his pay-off. hope this helps.

Fair enough.

I'd prefer to have a quality team looking for a stadium thats worthy of them, instead of a stadium looking for a quality team to fill it.

All in my opinion anyway.

(like i said, i'm not an accountant  :D )
