LIVERPOOL VS NORTHAMPTON - Carling Cup 3rd round 22/9/10 8pm ko

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby SouthCoastShankly » Thu Sep 23, 2010 1:22 pm

How many here have actually seen the whole 90 and not the edited highlights?

The reason I ask is I don't know whether to publish a ratings thread? If few have seen the game either first hand or repeated on LFC.TV it seems pointless.

Thoughts?

well they had their chance and they fuk'd it. they're sh!te. end of.

these players are no where near good enough. Time to play the 1st 11 week in week out (injuries permitting) and get shut of these numptys.

Pacheco, spearing, eccleston and any other tom, d!ck or harry who hasn't really got a clue - your time is up.

Next cup game be it FA or Uefa I dont want to hear "play the young blood etc" - I wanna see the strongest 11 on that field.

Problem is the first 11 ( apart from very brief spells ) are playing exactly the same mindless unatractive lack of desire football that  the reserves/2nd team are played.

Absolutely no guarantee we would have won last night with the first 11.

Imagine the reaction on here today if we lost with the first 11 last night  :D

Yeah i agree - think its the tactics more than the team.  Not excusing the players though but the tactics are bad.

Me

We havent played at Wembley since it has been rebuilt.

That's shocking, this cup gives an opportunity for players to win a medal also.
Every year we do this recently and its getting ridiculous.

People were saying that about the Europa league as well though... and since we aint gonna win the PL, is the FA Cup the only thing we care about?

Me too.  Players like Torres came to win trophies.  If we can't compete in the biggest ones at the moment, maybe he might stick around if we were at least picking up some smaller ones and shown a bit of progress.

I'm all for including youngsters in first team matches.

But, it's not the same to play 7 regular first team players and absorving 3 youngsters, or what we did yesterday in which you change the goalie, and you change totally the spine of the team.

And it's not the first time we throw to the bin  a cup game, I remember Rafa also including too many youngsters in an official game and a 4-1 disaster against Arsenal, IIRC.

This result is a shame, but a bad result is easily forgotten. The real problem for me is that right now we have several youngsters that could possibly have a future with Liverpool in one or two cases, with their morale destroyed.

I can imagine them defending a shirt like the Liverpool shirt, with first team players like Lucas protecting them. :(

:censored: sake, 10 years ago, we would have been :censored: excited to make a Wembley final, whether it be the league cup or FA cup.

We have been spoiled rotten by the CL and UEFA cup too much, now nobody gives a :censored: about these cups anymore.

When we did the treble in 2001, how many of you :censored: were moaning then?
